About the Workgroup:
Delve Underground’s geologic hazards and engineering geology workgroup includes eight licensed engineering geologists located throughout Oregon, Washington and California. Our work is primarily focused throughout the Western United States, and predominantly in the greater Pacific Northwest. Our projects often consist of complex and unique geologic problems that directly impact geotechnical engineering and design of transportation and heavy civil projects.
We work on a variety of projects and perform the following tasks in remote areas and often under difficult environmental conditions:
- Complex drilling and subsurface characterization of soil and rock
- Slope reconnaissance and mapping
- Geologic mapping
- Rock slope engineering and rock cut design
- Landslide studies and mitigation design
- Blasting consultation
- Emergency response to slope failures
Our staff is trained in rope access techniques to access steep slopes safely while collecting field data. Staff participate in annual rope access training with the entirety of the geologic hazards and engineering geology workgroup for three days.
We also provide construction support of our designs as part of our comprehensive geologic and geotechnical services, or when observation of construction activities requires a strong understanding of a site’s geologic conditions.
We service a variety of private and public clients including local governments, state departments of transportation, mining, other government agencies, private development, hydro power infrastructure, water and wastewater facilities and rail lines.
