Director of Sales-Basic Coatings

Description

Manage all sales and sales-related functions for Basic Coatings including sales strategy, forecasting, sales training, territory management, performance goals, people development and P&L. The successful candidate will report to our VP of Field Sales.

Requirements
  • Responsibilities include developing and executing all key growth sales strategies, tactics and action plans required to achieve Basic Coatings financial targets.
  • Ability to understand and execute complex business issues and help Regional Sales Directors view their business strategically.
  • Critical business thinking is required to achieve sales objectives and fiduciary responsibilities of the organization.
  • Achieve the annual sales plan by executing the programs to support the Market Focus of Distribution, Wood Floor Contractors and Education.
  • Ensure use of Salesforce.com and utilize key insights to develop pipelines and improve processes.
  • Develop, implement, and manage compensation programs for proper alignment with sales strategy.
  • Develops the Route to Market Strategy for the geography, inclusive, but not limited to, alternate channel strategies, new distribution additions, and contractors.
  • Responsible for executing the promotional programs delivered by Marketing to the sales organization.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.
  • Ability to represent the organization at a variety of industry and non-industry events and serve as “face of the company”.
  • A track record of consistently exceeding sales quotas and targets for a minimum of 5 years.
  • Ability to travel extensively-50%.
  • Utilize Salesforce to enter activity to include End User sales calls, Target End User activity, Call and Result, Distributor and End user feedback, and Competitive Information.
  • Manage T&E budgets.

  • Integration of Initiatives: Develop and execute strategies that effectively integrate both Betco and Basic Coatings initiatives to boost market share in the wood floor coatings segment.
  • Future Growth Strategy: Develop plans for leveraging our team's expertise as concrete flooring experts, exploring new market opportunities.
  • Strategic Thinking: Develop and implement a strategic vision for aggressively growing profitable revenue in the wood floor coatings industry.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:   

• Bachelor’s degree in business with emphasis in sales or marketing.

• 7 - 10 years of managerial experience.

• Proven track record of success in sales leadership, preferably in the wood floor coatings or related industry.

• Strong industry knowledge and the ability to keep up with evolving market trends and technologies.

• Exceptional leadership, motivation, and coaching skills to inspire and drive a sales team.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

• Proactive, strategic thinker with a strong problem-solving ability.

• Results-oriented and driven to exceed sales and revenue targets.


REQUIRED SKILLS

• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Programs

• Strong understanding of multi-channel selling strategies

• Knowledge and experience in consultative selling 

• Leadership experience in managing selling organizations 

• Proven performance management skills
