Pay Range: $58,500 - $64,000 annually (Pay information will vary depending upon relevant experience for the position.)

The Public Relations/Communications Coordinator is responsible for the production of all external communications (newsletters, flyers, brochure materials, and advertising) of Episcopal SeniorLife Communities; is the primary contact for ESLC with the external press; positions ESLC as the opinion leader and content expert on aging services; and provides marketing support.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Plan, conduct and supervise all public relations assignments
- Create and implement short and long term external communication plans and activities to support ESLC’s image
- Manage and execute key organizational events including ground breakings, grand openings and anniversaries
- Copywriter for newsletter, annual reports, and TV & radio scripts, press releases, news stories, direct mail pieces, website updates and copy, and advertising campaigns
- Assist in copywriting, editing and design support of all promotional and informational materials for all ESLC Departments
- Strategize with key leaders within the organization to pitch and position ESLC to local and national media outlets
- Nurture internal relationships with staff within each program to generate communications concerning programs and special events
- Knowledge of individual editorial process and interests within each media outlet
- Cultivate relationships with community leaders and press contacts
- Position ESLC as the experts and therefore, “go-to” organization, for senior related issues for local and national media outlets
- Update and maintain lists of press contacts (newspaper, TV, radio, Episcopal Diocese and parishes)
- Provide media with current information about programs, services, staff hires and other pertinent news
- Prepare key internal spokespeople for press interviews
- Primary ESLC contact for all members of the press/media; organizes all press interviews, press conferences and media events
- Monitor all press coverage including newspapers, social broadcasts, television and radio coverage, and other print publications for ESLC and related organizations/topics
- Maintain ESLC photograph archive and oversee adherence to photo procedures
- Maintain and update the ESLC website and link community calendars and resources
- Manage online analytics with media buying company
- Working knowledge of production process for print, radio, television, web
- Coordinate annual production for photo shoots, print, radio, television
- Assist in coordination of annual media buy, per budget
- Prepare (writing, coordination of articles, and editing) quarterly newsletter, Generations, and annual report
- Oversee, plan and implement social media strategies
- Promote neighborhood programs for all sites
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- A minimum of five years experience.
- Must have valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Good organizational and prioritization skills.
- Ability to self-motivate and work independently.
- Knowledge of communication devices: phone, fax, e-mail, internet, web-based media.
- Computer skills and experience. Proficient with Microsoft Office components, desktop publishing, and ability to manage databases.
- Strong customer service focus. Strong team player.
- Ability to interact courteously and tactfully with staff, residents, family members, visitors, vendors and the general public.
- This position may/will be required to provide direct care or have access to resident property or belongings
