Floyd|Snider is seeking a creative and detail-oriented GIS Analyst to join our collaborative and dynamic team. We’re looking for someone who exemplifies our commitment to technical excellence, environmental responsibility, and outstanding customer service.
Your primary responsibility will be to create high-quality maps, figures, and data visualizations that illustrate key concepts, guide data interpretation, and support project conclusions. You’ll also curate and manage spatial datasets, develop workflows, perform spatial analyses, and produce GIS products that are accurate and impactful. Your work will directly support environmental remediation, restoration, and compliance efforts across a range of projects.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with scientists, engineers, and other professionals to make GIS products that effectively communicate complex information to a wide range of audiences. You’ll also have the opportunity to participate in process improvement initiatives and explore innovative data visualization strategies through involvement in our Data Services Committee and Professional Graphics Group.
Here's our list of must-haves:
- 4 – 8 years of GIS experience and at least 3 years professional experience producing high-quality maps and graphics using Esri ArcGIS products, including ArcPro and/or ArcMap
- Strong cartographic or graphic design skills, with a proven ability to use color, symbology, and annotation to creatively and effectively tell a visual story
- Direct experience with geodatabases, feature digitization, data acquisition, data cleaning and organization, spatial and attribute data editing and management, as well as spatial analysis and data documentation
- Experience with GPS data collection and GNSS units for spatial data acquisition, including setting up, supporting, and maintaining data collection workflows using Esri Field Maps and Survey123
- Experience with automating workflows and analyses using scripts (Python preferred)
- Strong understanding of coordinate systems, tidal and elevation datums, and experience with spatial data modeling, interpolations, and raster change calculations
- Highly organized with an ability to manage many priorities based on project deadlines
Pay and Benefits
This is a full-time, permanent position. Candidates with 4 – 5 years of experience earn a salary range of $81K - $86K annually. Those with 6 - 8 years of experience earn a salary of $86K - $94K annually. We offer quarterly merit-based bonus opportunities, equity and ownership options, 401K, medical insurance, vision insurance, dental insurance, long-term disability insurance, and life insurance. We also offer 11 paid holidays and 20 days of paid time off per year.
Floyd|Snider provides employees with a flexible work schedule that includes core hours from 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday. Most staff are expected to work onsite 2 – 3 days per week, depending on their distance from the office. Project work may require you to work more than your standard billable work week, but Floyd|Snider provides extra time off to recognize this effort. Regional travel is a small part of this role. You won’t typically go more than 3 hours away, and we’ll cover all your expenses.

The right candidate will have a mix of the following skills or experience:
- Work experience or educational background in environmental sciences, with specific experience organizing and querying environmental and chemistry data
- Desire to work in an environmentally focused practice, with an interest in learning about environmental sampling, remediation, and engineering practices
- Familiarity with ArcGIS Online, including configuring web applications for data exploration and visualization (Instant Apps, StoryMaps, Dashboards, Experience Builder) and field data collection (Field Maps, Survey123)
- Familiarity with querying and managing data in relational databases, such as MS-Access and SQL Server, with some understanding of relational database design principles
- Experience integrating non-GIS data into GIS workflows, with an understanding of interoperability challenges, including working with CAD data
