Description

Magnolia Plumbing, Heating & Cooling. is currently looking for a Project Manager for our Special Projects Department. This candidate must be well rounded and have a strong background in both Plumbing Mechanical Systems. Candidate must be able to work independently as well as work with and as necessary lead construction, replacement and retrofit projects ranging from $50k to $41million. Duties and responsibilities to include, but not limited to, installing and coordinating all facets of commercial plumbing and minor mechanical, managing labor, sub-contractors, and projects according to plans and specifications. Candidate must be able to communicate and coordinate effectively with all Magnolia employees, General Contractor, Owners, Owner Reps, Project Managers, Architects, Engineers, Trades, Inspectors, and Vendors. Candidates must understand plumbing, gas and mechanical and hydronic systems.

Must be highly motivated and preferably have knowledge of the construction industry through field experience. This person will be responsible for ensuring the execution of subcontracts from project’s start to finish.


PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review construction documents and understand the scope of work connected to subcontract’s
  • Maintain an open line of communication with project owners, architects, engineers and subcontractors throughout the process
  • Understand and execute take-off for plumbing and mechanical systems to assist in order materials or preparing change orders
  • Assemble and submit subcontract change orders, submittals, RFI's, and change orders to clients
  • Build and maintain relationships with vendors to ensure best pricing and service on materials required.
  • Attend site project meetings as required
  • Conduct project site visits as needed
Requirements


  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Plumbing and Mechanical Project Management Experience
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as lead technician on construction, replacement and retrofit projects in existing spaces.
  • Journeyman Plumbing, Gas Fitting, and/or HVAC license minimum
  • Extensive knowledge of all codes
  • Portfolio or History of previous projects exhibiting ability to prioritize and plan work for efficient use of time
  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency for deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent customer service to both internal and external customers
  • Ability to work with different types and levels of people
  • Ability to assemble project submittals
  • Ability to understand job cost for project billings
  • Prefer Prior experience with prefabrication as it applies to Plumbing and Mechanical projects
  • Must be familiar with all aspects of Plumbing and Mechanical in the ground through the roof
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
