Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled ISD or IMM Specialist to develop and maintain interactive presentations and documents in accordance with customer-provided style guides. The ideal candidate will be proficient in PowerPoint and possess experience in the US Navy's AIM and CPM systems.
The role requires excellent written communication skills. The successful candidate will work independently while also collaborating with a distributed team that includes Technical Writers, Subject Matter Experts, and Instructional Systems Developers. This full-time position with work locations in both Crane and Bloomington Indiana. Travel to Baltimore, Pensacola, and San Deigo are also anticipated.
Eligibility Criteria:
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Ability to pass a qualifying background investigation, yielding eligibility for an IT Level II Common Access Card (CAC). Candidates with an existing background investigation (NACLC or higher within the last decade) will be preferred.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain interactive presentations using PowerPoint, ensuring adherence to customer-provided style guides.
• Create and update documents within the US Navy's AIM and CPM systems.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to design and develop effective instructional materials.
• Ensure all multimedia materials meet quality and accessibility standards.
Qualifications:
• Expertise in PowerPoint, with a strong portfolio of interactive presentations.
• Experience with the US Navy's AIM and CPM systems.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to adhere to style guides.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related discipline, or 2-5 years of related instructional development experience.
• Experience with Naval Construction Force (individual or multiple NCF officer and enlisted ratings and functional areas). A U.S. Navy Master Training Specialist qualification or an equivalent from other services is preferred.
Preferred:
Familiarity with NAVEDTRA 130 – 140 (series) and NETCINST 1510.3(series) is preferred. The Instructional Developer is required to design and develop curriculum for ILT (Interactive Learning Tools), ILE (Interactive Learning Environment), and IMI* (Interactive Multimedia Instruction) training, including:
• Creation and design of training materials: tasks, learning objectives, content, instructional strategies, learning events and activities, and test items.
• Designing interfaces and controls for IMI products.
• Developing lesson plans, exercise controller guides, on-the-job training handbooks, and student materials.
• Creating tests, testing plans, test administrator's guides, and test question spreadsheets (typically Excel formats).
Previous experience in a similar role within a military or defense environment.
