Heartview Foundation, a well-known substance use disorder treatment facility in North Dakota, is seeking an Attorney to join our team part-time! We are seeking out an individual to advise and represent our organization in various areas of organizational law.
Position Overview: As Heartview Foundation's Attorney, you will play an essential role in advising and representing the organization with various aspects of the organization’s legal concerns, cases, corporate law, policies, and patient records.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing legal support and guidance to the organization.
- Advising the organization on the best behavior while charges or cases are pending and developing ideal arguments and representing the organization in civil and criminal legal proceedings.
- Enlightening the organization about legal options and the possible outcomes or threats.
- Preparing legal documents such as dispositions, pleadings, and contracts in a timely and accurate manner.
- Staying informed about any current legislation that may impact the organization.
- Guide the organization with their policies, patient medical records, and federal and state employment laws and regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Flexible Scheduling:
This position will be part-time, around 5 hours per week, with a possibility for remote work.

What We’re Looking For: We’re seeking an individual who is committed to personal and professional growth. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a law-related field.
- Possess a Juris Doctoral degree from an accredited school of law.
- Admittance to the bar requirements in the region of jurisdiction.
- Five years of experience is preferred.
- Preference is given for experience with privacy laws related to substance use disorders (42 CFR part 2) and medical condition disclosures.
- Valid driver’s license, with no open cases.
