Reporting to the Vice President, Global Brand Lead, the Vice President, Marketing - TED will be a key member of the Sales and Marketing leadership team and will lead the development and implementation of Viridian’s Brand Strategies for the TED portfolio, which includes two assets in Phase 3. This individual will be responsible for planning two product launches and building a high-performing marketing team to execute them, resulting in the achievement of revenue forecasts over the span of several years.
This role may be based in Waltham, MA, which would be a hybrid role, or it can also be fully remote. Our office-based employees are required to work in the office three (3) days a week. If remote, travel to headquarters for meetings would be required at the discretion of management.
Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
- Develop and execute a long-term marketing strategy for the launch of two TED products, ensuring each product’s value proposition and differentiation are clearly communicated
- Lead the creation of go-to-market plans, including market segmentation, competitive positioning, and brand messaging for both launches
- Build and structure a high-performing marketing team over the next 6-12 months, ensuring the team has the necessary skills and expertise in HCP, patient, and digital marketing to support the two product launches
- Lead the detailed execution of launch plans for both products, ensuring that all pre-launch, launch, and post-launch activities are completed on time and with high impact
- Continuously monitor and adjust marketing strategies based on market feedback, sales performance, and evolving competitive dynamics
- Provide mentorship and leadership to the team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including R&D, sales, medical affairs, regulatory, and market access, to ensure all marketing efforts are aligned with broader company goals
- Manage marketing budgets and resources across both product launches, ensuring efficient allocation of funds while maximizing marketing impact
- Drive innovation in digital marketing efforts, incorporating new tools, channels, and technologies to engage both HCPs and patients more effectively
- Ensure all marketing activities comply with regulatory and legal guidelines, working closely with internal and external regulatory experts
- Requires a Bachelors degree with 15+ years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology marketing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Proven track record of driving performance for specialty or rare disease products, ideally in ophthalmology, endocrinology, or a related therapeutic area, in highly competitive, complex markets
- Experience in building and leading high-performing marketing teams
- Strong strategic thinking and decision-making capabilities, with the ability to translate insights into actionable marketing plans
- Experience with market research, data analytics, and applying customer insights to shape marketing strategy and optimize campaigns
- Deep knowledge of multi-channel marketing strategies, including digital, patient engagement, and HCP outreach
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing go-to-market strategies for both healthcare professionals (HCPs) and patients
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts clearly to both internal and external stakeholders
- Experience in engaging with key opinion leaders (KOLs), patient advocacy groups, and healthcare professionals
- Ability to work in a fast paced-environment and to handle multiple tasks
- Strong commitment to ethical standards
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.)
- Ability to travel up to 25%
- The salary range for this position is commensurate with experience
