Senior Account Executive

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Account Executive works independently and collaboratively as a part of the Reinsurance team and is responsible for securing insurance and reinsurance from an array of worldwide markets for insurance companies and related service providers located throughout the U.S. Training is both formal, self-study, and on the job.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Designs new and renewal insurance and reinsurance programs, creates underwriting information requests for clients and prospects
  2. Develops insurance and reinsurance submissions efficiently and accurately
  3. Maintain market lists and transmit reinsurance and carrier submissions
  4. Responds timely to client and reinsurer requests for information
  5. Assist in developing client and prospect presentations
  6. Work with external service providers to complete client-specific projects
  7. Assist with the management of expenses, time, services, etc. to maximize profits
  8. Coordinate with internal staff on the production of placement slips, cover notes, contracts, addenda, and miscellaneous agreements, as needed
  9. Follow-up on contract documentation, ensuring the timely flow of materials
  10. Implement new and renewal contracts internally in accordance with Company procedures
  11. Assist in maintaining Company approval with reinsurers
  12. Assist with the monitoring of accounting and claims experience on current contracts (payments, collections, etc.), anticipating, preventing and resolving problems, when possible
  13. Establish and maintain strong relationships with colleagues internally and externallyDevelop comprehensive knowledge of reinsurer capability (product lines, capacity, approvals, etc.)
  14. Assist with the documentation of all external correspondence in accordance with Company procedures
  15. Update management on issues, progress, etc., regularly and upon request
  16. Attend local reinsurer events as requested by manager
  17. Assist with the coordination of meetings, trade shows and conferences
  18. Must maintain a consistent in office presence 
  19. Performs other activities, duties and assignments as needed or requested
  20. Sporadic travel as needed; less than 10% 


Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 2 - 6 years of insurance and reinsurance knowledge and certifications are a plus
  • Communicate professionally at all levels of the organization
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Requires strong quantitative analytical skills 
  • Self-starter, but enjoys being part of a team
  • Well organized, able to handle several tasks at once and meet targeted deadlines
  • Experience utilizing Salesforce software preferred
  • Utilize Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Suite with ease (Microsoft Publisher experience preferred, but not required)
