We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Architect to lead the design and implementation of our private and public cloud IT infrastructure. This critical role will focus on the architecture of our compute, storage, and security systems that provide our eDiscovery application hosting and IaaS offerings. Additionally, the Infrastructure Architect will support automation objectives and actively contribute to our DevOps initiatives, ensuring seamless integration and efficiency across our technology stack. Role and Responsibilities:
- Architecture & Design: Create architecture designs for scalable, high-performance, and secure infrastructure for both private and public cloud environments. Architect solutions to support our eDiscovery application hosting and IaaS offerings. Ensure designs align with business needs, compliance requirements, industry best practices, and established referenced architectures.
- Lead Projects: Participate, support, and lead service improvement and technology implementation projects. Take ownership of the project plan, activities, and delegation of project tasks to project team members.
- Telemetry & Reporting: Define infrastructure telemetry metrics that can be used for infrastructure reporting and service monitoring requirements.
- Infrastructure Security: Design and enforce security policies and controls to protect data and infrastructure from threats. Assist in the implementation of security controls including server hardening, firewalls, data encryption, and identity and access management (IAM) controls.
- Technology Oversight & Guidance: Assist Operations teams with the monitoring and management of private and public cloud platforms including Storage, SCVMM, AWS EC2, Active Directory, and others encompassing configuration, installation, and security.
- Advanced Support: Provide escalated support for on-prem compute infrastructure, virtual servers, storage, and other IT systems. Address complex technical issues in collaboration with Storage, System, and Application Engineers.
- Scripting: Develop and execute PowerShell or bash scripts for system management or report generation with on-prem and cloud infrastructure.
- Automation & DevOps Support: Identify manual procedures that can be automated and design or develop the automated process. Support automation objectives by developing and implementing scripts and tools to streamline infrastructure management and deployment. Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate infrastructure components with CI/CD pipelines, ensuring efficient and reliable deployments.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation such as process diagrams, architecture diagrams, troubleshooting guides, and SOPs.
- Training & Mentoring: Mentor junior staff and provide training to enhance their skills in managing complex issues.
- Flexible Role Adaptation: Adapt to various assigned duties in evolving technology scenarios.
- Certifications: Microsoft, AWS certification or equivalent experience.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in IT, or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Experience: 15+ years in IT experience specializing in virtualization and storage infrastructure.
- Expert or architecture level knowledge and experience in server virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, KVM.
- Expert or architecture level knowledge of on-prem storage technologies such as block storage, NAS storage, object storage.
- Excellent ability to create component level solution diagrams and data workflow diagrams.
- Strong working knowledge of major server operating systems including Windows Server editions and Linux distributions.
- Strong working knowledge of PowerShell scripting, bash scripting
- Working knowledge of networking configurations, firewall policies and rules.
- Practical understanding of information technology concepts, protocols, industry best practices and DevOps methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
- Ability to work under minimal supervision and under your own initiative.
- Ability to collaborate with other teams across multiple time zones and geographies.
Preferred Requirements:
- Certifications: AWS Architect certification or DevOps certifications
- DevOps: Experience in a DevOps culture and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
- Scripting Skills: Proficiency in Python, Ansible, Terraform or similar scripting and DevOps tools.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
