About the Role:
As a Mechanical Engineer II, you’ll play an essential role in the design, development, and testing of advanced aerospace pyrotechnic, pneumatic, and electro-mechanical devices. From initial concept to final production, you’ll ensure the highest standards of technical excellence, spearhead design reviews, and work closely with cross-functional teams to bring world-class solutions to life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Innovative Design: Leverage Creo 8.0 and Windchill PLM to create complex models and detailed drawings, pushing the boundaries of aerospace engineering.
- Precision Engineering: Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) expertise to achieve top-tier quality and performance.
- Problem-Solving: Lead Root Cause/Corrective Action (RCCA) initiatives to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Production Support: Provide real-time technical support to production operations, optimizing processes and resolving challenges on the spot.
- Process Improvement: Lead Product/Production Improvement Programs to streamline efficiency and drive cost-effective growth.
- Technical Analysis: Use tools like Matlab, Mathcad, and Ansys for rigorous engineering calculations and validation.
- Prototyping: Oversee the build, test, and analysis of prototype and production hardware to meet stringent quality standards.
- Documentation: Develop thorough engineering documentation to support all stages of product development.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct technical evaluations of non-conforming hardware to maintain our excellence standards.
- Project Management: Drive projects from concept through production, ensuring milestones are met with precision and efficiency.
What You Bring:
- Education: Bachelor’s in Engineering (ABET-accredited); Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: 3+ years in CAD modeling (preferably Creo 8.0 or higher) with GD&T expertise and proficiency in Mathcad, Matlab, or Ansys.
- Industry Knowledge: Hands-on experience with product testing in a lab setting and familiarity with the aerospace/defense sector.
- Regulatory Compliance: U.S. permanent resident with eligibility to work with explosives (Safe Explosives Act of 2003).
- Skills: Strong communication skills for collaboration with internal and external teams; adaptable, proactive, and solution-oriented.
