We’re currently looking for an Account Manager, Select Commercial Insurance who will work with producers and carriers to provide exceptional service to our clients.


What’s the work like?

You will...

  • Effectively and independently manage customer service accountabilities on a Commercial Insurance book of business greater than the minimum standards for the position. This book of business will focus on accounts in our small business division, Select, with an account revenue under $3,000.
  • Manage renewal process according to agency procedures; negotiate most advantageous renewal terms and conditions for the client; review quotes, prepare proposals & bind coverage
  • Review renewal business applications with producers for accurate completion of coverage areas, market identification and submission requirements. Organize and submit applications to carrier partners or rate utilizing a comparative rating tool or carrier website. Analyze carrier options for pricing and coverage accuracy.
  • Complete servicing of accounts, including but not limited to preparing proposals, issuing certificates and auto ID cards, processing endorsements, audits, binders and maintaining current status on all account tasks
  • Promptly invoice all premium-bearing transactions
  • Review policies upon receipt in accordance with agency procedures for timely customer service
  • Promptly respond to customers’ questions and/or requests for assistance
  • Review client contracts and make recommendations to producer, client and/or carriers if it is necessary to modify existing coverage in order to comply with contract provisions
  • Effectively and independently process and report claim information received to insurers; promptly respond to insureds’, insurers’ or claimant’s questions; communicate with the Claims Manager regarding significant claims or suits.
  • Communicate all necessary information to producers, clients, carriers and any other agency team members servicing the account
  • Maintain the electronic account file and fully incorporate the capabilities of the agency management system into daily workflow 
  • Prioritize workload to consistently meet objectives and request assistance from management when necessary
  • Assist the producer in eliminating gaps in coverage to reduce E&O exposure
  • Perform quality reviews as requested by management, and comply with requirements of quality programs
  • Follow agency and department procedures as outlined by management
  • Meet with and maintain effective working relationships with clients to support business retention
  • Meet with and maintain effective working relationships with insurance company representatives 
  • Ensure confidentiality is maintained in the collection, maintenance, and dissemination of highly sensitive information, including Protected Health Information (PHI)
  • Maintain, develop, and pursue technical knowledge through newsletters, bulletins, seminars, trade publications or other educational opportunities
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance
  • Any other special projects and duties as assigned

Requirements

What do I need to know?

You have to have…

  • Valid Driver's License
  • Resident Property and Casualty Agent's license
  • Commitment to obtain advanced insurance education 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational & decision-making skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams), and all agency automation software. Experience with Applied Epic preferred
  • Experience with office equipment such as computer, calculator, copier, phone and fax machine
  • Above average word processing skills 
  • Strong respect for confidentiality
  • Ability to observe safety and security procedures and use equipment and materials properly
  • Ability to conform with and abide by all workplace policies, work procedures, and instructions
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with company employees and external contacts
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One (1) to Two (2) years of commercial or personal insurance experience, commercial account management experience preferred.
Salary Description
$28.21/hr - $33.33/hr
