At Hoffman Animal Hospital, we’re looking to hire an experienced Veterinary Assistant or Registered Veterinary Technician that lets you thrive in veterinary medicine. This is a full-time position. Compensation for this role is $18- $26 per hour based on experience, and opportunities for overtime. Responsibilities:
- Frontline Ambassador: Be the friendly face (or voice) that greets clients and gathers a comprehensive history about their furry companions.
- Client Education: Educate pet owners on preventive care, treatment options, and wellness blood work recommendations.
- Billing and Payments: Handle financial transactions with finesse and empathy.
- Animal Handling: Ability to confidently handle dogs and cats in a low stress manner.
- Treatments: Deliver medications, fluids, and other treatments as assigned with efficiency.
- Diagnostics: Perform radiographs, including dental radiographs, and perform in house blood work as needed.
- Surgery and Anesthesia Monitoring: Ability to assess patients while anesthetized and make appropriate decisions in order to maintain a smooth plane of anesthesia.
- Other duties as assigned (e.g. walking dogs outdoors that are hospitalized, taking out trash and recycles, etc.)

- Paid Holidays: 6 Paid Holidays (eligible on 1st Day)
- Paid Time Off: 40 hours per year (accrued)
- Health Insurance (medical, dental, vision): Single and Family, 1st of the month after 60 days of employment
- Supplemental Insurance (e.g. life insurance, critical illness, etc.): 1st of the month after 60 days of employment
- 401k: 1st of the month following hire date (21 or older), match after 1 year if minimum hours worked are maintained

Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Registered Veterinary Technician license is valued but not required with minimum of 2 years experience as a veterinary surgical assistant
- Customer Service Skills: Prior experience in customer service is required (can be in another industry)
- Adaptability: You thrive in a fast-paced environment and can switch gears easily.
