Description

As a General Construction Foreman (AKA Gencon Foreman), you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating various construction projects, including taking care of trenches, running evacuation equipment, blowing in attic insulation, siding repair, drywall repair, basic framing and other related tasks. 


Essential Job Functions

  • Supervise and lead a team of construction workers, ensuring the successful completion of projects.
  • Coordinate and schedule daily tasks to ensure efficiency and productivity.
  • Prepping sites for solar ground mounts, digging trenches, ensuring proper excavation and backfilling.
  • Blowing in attic insulation, ensuring proper installation and safety protocols.
  • Conduct siding repair and replacement as needed, ensuring high-quality workmanship.
  • Perform drywall repair and finishing, ensuring smooth and seamless surfaces.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards at all times.
  • Communicate with clients, Branch Manager, Construction Manager and Regional Construction Manager to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement solutions to meet project deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including project reports, timesheets, and material records.
  • Collaborate with Construction Manager or Regional Construction Manager on employee reviews, compensation, and corrective action for the respective crews 
  • Train new workers on installation practices and safety standards 
  • Review projects before installation to ensure potential issues are mitigated 
  • Work on roofs, ladders, crawlspaces, attics and other residential and commercial areas
  • Implement quality control checks with each installation crew 
  • Interact with clients in a respectful manner 
  • Accurately upload information to CRM 
  • Ability to read schematics and follow technical installation instructions 
  • Comply with company policies and procedures 
  • Enforce all company and OSHA safety policies 
Requirements
  • Experience with operating excavation equipment and skid steers
  • Be comfortable climbing a ladder and working from various positions
  • Be comfortable with working outside in all weather conditions
  • Have strong mechanical aptitude
  • Maintain company tools
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • High attention to detail and quality
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Management or leadership experience preferred
  • Experience with roof work and general carpentry preferred
  • Ability to maintain professional attitude
  • Knowledge of Solar Ground Mounts a plus, willing to train the right candidate

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of experience leading a team in the construction industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of trenching, blowing in attic insulation, siding repair, drywall repair techniques, and basic framing.
  • Proficient in using construction tools, equipment, and machinery.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Valid US driver's license and good driving record
  • OSHA 10 Certification (course provided by employer)
  • Safety certifications and training are a plus.
  • Ability to work 40 hours a week, overtime available
  • Available to travel
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics
