Description:

The Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) helps plan aspects of the organization’s industrial security program requirements and initiatives involved with Government Department of Defense (DoD) industrial security defense contractors’ program and managing aspects delegated and assigned by the Facility Security Officer (FSO).

Requirements

  

Essential Functions:

  • Comprehensive understanding and support of government system of records in relation to all security clearance information for completeness and compliance. (Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS), Defense Security System (DSS).
  • Assists to coordinate assigned aspects of the Industrial Security program to ensure compliance with the National Industrial Security Program (NISP), Director of Central Intelligence Directives (DCIDs), and Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs).
  • Establish and maintain successful working relationships with Government and internal customers. 
  • Conduct periodic self-inspections and review security processes to ensure compliance with Government and company regulations and requirements, identify deficiencies, and recommend corrective actions. 
  • Collect and analyze data, conduct interviews, and write reports to determine level and scope of non-compliance with Government and company regulations and requirements.
  • Issue, maintain, and track DD Form 254s for multiple contracts.
  • Experience initiating and maintain compliance with National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Joint Air      Force-Army-Navy (JAFAN) requirements and directives.
  • Personnel security support to include initiating thru JPAS; 5-year periodic re-investigations; daily review for notifications; annual review to meet NISPOM requirements to keep ownership to a minimum; maintain current employee folders and liaison with DSS investigators.
  • Performs all security related duties assigned by the Facility Security Officer and/or Chief Executive Officer. 

Required Education and Experience/Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • Minimum two years’ experience with federal security compliance, governmental agencies with progressive leadership/management responsibilities, or equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • Proficiency using all Microsoft Office 365 applications including: Skype/Teams Conferencing, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and printer/scanner.

Work Environment:


Office environment will include sitting at a desk and operating office equipment including a laptop/computer, printer and scanner, answering and speaking by telephone. The employee will occasionally be asked to travel by car or plane to remote work locations as needed. The noise level will be quiet to moderate. Other employees will occasionally pass through the work area.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:


This is a part-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday typically between 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position may require long hours and weekend work. Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be required.


Work Authorization/Security Clearance: Obtains and Maintains Top Secret Clearance
