The Dawson site Quality Assurance (QA) Managers leads and oversees the comprehensive daily site food safety, quality assurance, 3rd party and regulatory compliance programs. The QA Manager role provides direct supervision, direction and motivation to the site Quality Assurance team members. They provide operations with analytical support for process and product control. They are the site SQF practitioner and are PCQI certified. Through their leadership, they inspire a culture of excellence and accountability across the organization, aligning our operations with the mission to nourish the world with plant-based foods that benefit people's health and the health of our planet.

Summary of Essential Job Functions:

  • SQF Practitioner:   Manage the development, implementation, review and maintenance of the SQF QMS   to meet GFSI standards. Maintain   document control, including direct responsibility for updates and execution to   all quality control and food safety policies and procedures (HACCP, GMP,   Sanitation, EMP, Pest Control) and assistance in the evaluation of current   and proposed system procedures. Set QA   compliance objectives and ensure that targets are achieved. 
  • Regulatory Compliance:   Serve as the site FDA PCQI. Manage and   maintain the site HACCP and PC programs. Ensure all products and processes comply with local, national, and   international food safety and quality regulations and standards. Ensure compliance to National Organic   Program, Kosher, Halal, Non-GMO Project and other relevant certifications. Site   point of contact for all food safety inspections. Site recall coordinator. 
  • Site Leadership: Directly   manage site quality, analytical and sanitation personnel. Coordinate the daily quality operations of   the site. Assign and coach employees on job tasks to ensure effective use of   team member time. Ensure efficient operation of the plant and staff by   striving to meet site objectives for safety, quality and output. Member of   the Dawson leadership team working collaboratively to set direction and   positively build the culture of the plant. Internal auditing, annual and GMP   assessments per QMS requirements. 
  • Risk Management:   Site Food Safety SME. Identify, assess, and mitigate food safety and quality   risks throughout the supply chain. Actively participate in Management of   Change process in regards site FSQR and ability to execute. Completion and   follow up on Food Safety events and CAPA. (Dekra) 
  • Customer Engagement and Problem   Solving: Act as the primary point of contact for external customers on   site audit requests. Provide Quality Doc customer support as needed. Track   and investigate product complaints within defined timeframes. Provide   investigative report and response as needed.  
  • Product Management:   Ensure the accuracy of Food Safety and Quality reporting, sanitation records,   product release information, and PCQI daily batch record review. 
  • Team Development:   Build, lead, and develop a team of food safety and quality professionals,   promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning. Responsible for   training of all employees for FSQR items. 
Requirements

Preferred Education and Experience:


  • Degree in Food Science, Food Manufacturing, Quality Engineering or other related field. 
  • 5+ years Quality Management, Food Safety Management and Team Management experience. 
  • PCQI/HACCP certified

  • Adapt to temperature and environmental extremes from hot to cold, noise, dust, dirt and chemicals
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time working on the computer
