Assistant Event Manager
Description

Summary: Lead and direct the event service team through setup, execution, and cleanup, building positive relationships with clients, guests, and vendors to elevate each event experience. Serve as a liaison between the kitchen, service teams, sales, and guests to ensure a seamless and memorable occasion.


Reports To: Senior Events Manager

Role: This position is an exempt full-time position within our company. 



Essential Functions: Responsibilities:

  • Event Management: Supervise event staff through all phases of each event, including setup, service, and cleanup, ensuring all details align with Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
  • Client & Vendor Relations: Build positive relationships with clients, guests, and vendors, acting as a central point of contact to ensure smooth coordination.
  • Service Excellence: Maintain the highest standards of service in line with our brand values, overseeing specialty service needs and dietary requirements.
  • Venue Readiness: Keep service areas, bridal and groom suites, and public spaces guest-ready at all times.
  • Team Leadership: Conduct pre- and post-event team briefings, manage assignments, and ensure all service details are covered. Collect team feedback after each event for continuous improvement.
  • Inventory & Setup: Oversee bar setup, manage inventory and supplies, and ensure event spaces are properly stocked and organized.

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Staffing: Interview, hire, and train new event staff to maintain a high-quality team. Schedule and staff events based on attendance projections, aligning with budgetary goals.
  • Inventory Management: Manage event equipment, oversee liquor and supply orders, and perform quarterly inventories.
  • Financial Reporting: Track labor costs, reconcile event expenses, and ensure all profit and loss (P&L) reports are completed and submitted timely.

Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership experience in events or hospitality management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to teamwork and a positive workplace culture
  • Physical stamina to stand for 8-12 hours and lift up to 40 lbs
