Position Summary: SecurityStudio & the Academy Program is now seeking an Executive Director to join our team. The Executive Director will be responsible for creating best-in-class educational programs and resources designed to prepare participants for certifications within the information security space. We are seeking someone who has experience building a program like this from the ground up, while bringing expertise as a subject matter expert within cybersecurity practices. 


This is an exciting, newly created role that offers you the chance to make a significant difference in a rapid-growing industry. You will take the Academy program to the next level, by developing and executing the business plan, marketing and management of the programs, while collaborating with other subject matter experts, instructional designers, and stakeholders to create high-quality learning experiences that align with industry standards and certification requirements. 


Working Location: This position is available on a full-time remote basis in MN, WI, FL, CT, or MA only. Only candidates located in the United States will be considered.

What Your Day Looks Like as an Executive Director:

  • Leading the development and implementation of best-in-class educational programs and resources designed to prepare participants for certifications within the information security space 
  • Working as a subject matter expert in information security for the organization, including maintaining up-to-date knowledge on the industry and applying your expertise to lead the design and development of new courses
  • Overseeing the design of curriculum and content for the certification preparation series, ensuring it meets the needs of learners and aligns with certification standards
  • Collaborating with internal teams, external partners, and industry experts to gather insights and ensure the program is relevant and effective
  • Developing the revenue model and pricing structure
  • Developing marketing strategies to promote certification programs and increase enrollment, utilizing various channels such as social media, email campaigns, and partnerships
  • Establishing metrics for success and conduct regular assessments of the program's effectiveness, making data-driven recommendations for improvement
  • Overseeing the budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and adherence to financial goals
  • Staying updated on industry trends and best practices in adult education and certification, applying insights to enhance the program
  • Attending conferences and events, and partnering with Information Security groups, building strong relationships in the industry
  • Providing course instruction when needed

Working Hours: This is a full-time position worked Monday-Friday each week, with the expectation that the responsibilities can be completed in 40 hours each week. Primary business hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm CST, however this position offers flexibility in setting the working schedule best fit for you, while most importantly maintaining the expectations of the position, completing projects within defined deadlines, and participating in all company and team meetings.  


Travel: Some travel required up to 10%  

Requirements

What You Bring to the Executive Director Role: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Organizational Development, Marketing, Business Administration, Technology or related field preferred
  • CISSP Certification 
  • CISA Certification or equivalent experience 
  • Previous experience working as a CISO or virtual CISO  
  • Proven experience conducting Security Risk Assessments 
  • Experience in building budgets for Information Security Programs 
  • Experience in building and leading Information Security Training initiatives 
  • Experience with Information Security Policy and Procedure development and life cycle 
  • Experience working with Learning Management Systems 
  • A proven track record for development of educational or professional training that drove high impact for an organization
  • Understanding of penetration testing and ability to identify risk based upon results 
  • Understanding of incident response procedures and experience with incident management 
  • Comfortable and displayed ability working with C-Suite 
  • Effective verbal and written communication 
  • Excellent relationship building skills 
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills 
  • Creative thinker with a proactive and problem-solving attitude 

Salary: SecurityStudio believes in and operates with equitable hiring practices. The starting salary range for the Executive Director is between $120,000-160,000 not including any bonus, incentive commission, or benefits.  The range displayed on each job posting reflects the defined salary range for the position across the United States. Within the range, pay offered is determined by a variety of factors that include but are not limited to job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
