Mortgage Loan Processor
Description

The Mortgage Loan Processor is a crucial role in the home loan process by acting as the intermediary between the borrower, loan advisor, underwriter, and any other related parties. This person will be responsible for receiving all originated loans, performing compliance checks and ordering all appropriate actions so that loans can proceed to underwriting to create quick turn-around of loan files. 


 This position will work for the Mortgage division of F&M Bank Corp.  
 

Essential Duties: 

  • Collects and reviews documents for accuracy such as income statements, tax returns, asset information, credit reports, employment verifications.
  • Prepares loan files by organizing and compiling all loan documents for the underwriter to review. Ensures documents are up-to-date and accurate.
  • Verifies employment, income, assets, and other financial information
  • Cross-checks borrower data to minimize the risk of fraud or inaccuracies.
  • Acts as the primary point of contact for the borrower, loan officer, underwriter, and other relevant parties. Provides status updates and help address any questions or concerns. 
  • Manages important deadlines and ensures the loan application progresses smoothly to meet contract closing dates. Promptly follow ups on any outstanding documents or information.
  • Ensures all processes and documents meet regulatory and company guidelines.  
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of mortgage laws and lending requirements. 
  • Maintains regular, reliable attendance.

  • Proficient PC skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and loan origination software.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages.
  • Ability to analyze personal and complex financial and income information.

Education and/or Experience (Required and Preferred) 

  • High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of two years’ experience in loan processing. 
  • Bilingual in Spanish (preferred)

Position Type/Hours: 

  • This is a full-time, non-exempt level position working 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday – Friday with other days and hours as necessary to accomplish duties.
