Basic Functions and Scope of Job: 

The Quality Inspector is responsible for maintaining quality standards, inspecting and documenting new part qualification, in-process production, finished product, and incoming parts and materials. 


Key Responsibilities:

· Approve in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production supervisor and/or machine operators

· Monitor in-process manufacturing operations to ensure adherence to quality techniques, practices and procedures

· Document inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database 

· Working with Engineering to qualify and verify new parts or assemblies

· Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations

· Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities

· Ensure that the organization’s Quality Management System conforms to customer, internal, ISO 9001, and regulatory requirements

· Approve incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials 

· Document Non-conformances, recommend actions and help work towards solutions

· Monitor, measure, and review internal Quality processes. 

· Responsible for accuracy and timely inspection/calibration of monitoring and measuring devices

· Maintain knowledge of standards, regulations/laws, issues, and news with respect to product (service) quality

· Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  

Qualifications and Skills:

This role is pivotal in coordinating the company's quality inspection of our products. The individual in this position must have a high degree of integrity, resourcefulness, and professionalism in working with colleagues, clients, and vendors. Relationship building, internal customer service, and the ability to follow up in a timely manner are critical for success. The ideal candidate will have relative experience, excellent communication and time management skills, and manufacturing aptitude. To be successful in this role, a qualified applicant should possess the following attributes: 

· Minimum education of a high school diploma or equivalent

· Minimum of two (2) years in quality inspection roles in a manufacturing environment

· Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook)

· Skilled with general inspection equipment (Calipers, depth gage, tape measure, etc.)

· Blueprint reading skills are a must

· Welding and metal fabrication experience is a plus

· Welding inspection experience is a plus

· ISO 9001:2015 experience preferred

· Ability to travel highly desired
