Job Summary:

The Sanitation II position involves working in wet, humid environments with extreme temperature changes around large processing equipment and industrial sanitation chemicals. The role requires teamwork, flexibility, and adherence to safety protocols. Sanitation II workers are responsible for cleaning fryers, cooking kettles, and other equipment, specializing in chemical boil-outs and washdowns, and they use automated cleaning tools like pressure washers and steamers. They also handle equipment operations (e.g., valves, LOTO procedures) and manage chemicals, including titrations and pH measurements. This role requires forklift operation for moving oil totes and minimal supervision. 


  

Position Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning fryers, masa sizers, and kettles.
  • Complete documentation for change over, re-used oil records, boil out, etc.
  • Fill the fryer tanks with oil
  • Frequently lift/move hoses, equipment, and chemical containers weighing 50 lbs. throughout each work shift.
  • Assist in transporting heavy equipment with carts or other devices.
  • Exposure to chemical cleaning solutions (with protective gear).
  • Perform varying tasks while standing, lifting, crouching etc., during long periods of time 
  • Wash production equipment for changeovers with water or chemicals as needed.
  • Follow and execute from 50% up to 95% of SSOP’s.
  • Transfer used oil from holding tanks into empty totes and from fryer into holding tanks. Use of the pallet jack or forklift.
  • Manage used oil at high temperatures up to 360F.
  • Assist others to ensure the equipment is correctly set for sanitation activities.
  • Ensure proper sanitary documentation, including change over, Master Sanitation Schedule, re-used oil form, etc., are properly documented.
  • Wash seasoning equipment such as tumblers, seasoning sprayers, scarves, conveyors, seasoning vacuum equipment, and blue incline conveyors.
  • Wash mixers, conveyors, corn washers, masa sizers, pre-sheeters, sheeters ovens, and all other types of equipment with chemicals.
  • Wash scales from the packaging room with chemicals.
  • Wash holding tanks.
  • Dry clean packaging room.
  • Assist with Wastewater when the alarm goes off.
  • Remove trash and cardboard from production floors.
  • Have basic knowledge of GMPs, chemicals, LOTO, and PPE.
Requirements
  • Be able to read and follow written procedures
  • Proven attention to detail, responsible, mature, self-motivated
  • Able to work in fast fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work around the regular shift schedule, shift-based on production needs, including weekends.
  • Understand weekends are the primary days for sanitation and must be available for washdowns.
  • Forklift certified, primarily to move oil totes.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:

  • Stand and walk most of the day
  • Lift up to 50 lbs. some of the time 
  • Walk on uneven ground and wet or      slippery floors
  • Exposure to spices (allergens), including but not limited to soy and wheat
  • Exposure to high noise levels and high heat environment

Schedule:

1st Shift (5:00 AM to 1:00 PM)
