Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated manager to lead our Insights and Analytics function, transforming data into actionable insights. This is a role for a leader with strong hands-on skills, who is eager and capable of growth. You will drive the development of our reporting and analytics function, oversee the delivery of high-quality data insights, and play a key role in evolving our data capabilities to include advanced analytics and machine learning.
You will lead two sub-teams:
- In the immediate term, you will lead our Insights and Reporting initiatives and function.
- After the first function is solidified, you will build and manage our Data Science and Advanced Analytics team.

You’ll spend your days on the following:
Initially, your focus will primarily be on developing the operations and strategy for our insights and reporting function.
- Lead and Manage the Insights and Reporting Sub-team: Oversee a team of BI Analysts and ETL Developers to deliver reliable and insightful data visualizations and reports for internal and external stakeholders. Ensure quality and accuracy are core to the team, following clear processes.
- Develop and Maintain BI Dashboards and Reports: Work hands-on with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to create, maintain, and optimize interactive dashboards and reports that provide actionable business insights.
- Oversee ETL and Data Integration Processes: Manage the design, implementation, and maintenance of ETL processes to ensure data is accurately extracted, transformed, and loaded for reporting purposes.
- Project Management: Coordinate multiple projects, including new client launches, report creation, data validation, and ongoing report maintenance. Ensure projects are delivered on time and meet quality standards. Create routine processes for new client implementations.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their data needs, translate requirements into reports and dashboards, and ensure data insights align with business objectives. Use strong judgement to evaluate priorities and ensure resources are focused on the highest value initiatives.
- Drive Process Improvements: Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance data quality and accessibility. Create clear processes for issue and request management, internally and with clients.
- Manage vendor relationship: Manage our relationship with Visier, ensuring quality and timing expectations are clear and met. Advocate for Augeo’s priorities.
Once the insights and reporting function is operationalized and working well, you will help us develop our data science and advanced analytics functions.
- Develop a Strategic Vision for Data Science: Collaborate with senior leadership to define a roadmap for building a new Data Science and Advanced Analytics sub-team. Develop a strategy that integrates both reporting and advanced analytics to provide comprehensive business value.
- Build and Lead the Data Science Team: Recruit, hire, and onboard data science talent, including Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and Machine Learning Engineers, to establish a robust data science and advanced analytics capability.
- Promote Data-Driven Decision Making: Advocate for data science initiatives across the organization and work with stakeholders to identify high-impact opportunities for advanced analytics and machine learning.
- Foster Cross-Team Collaboration: Ensure the Insights and Reporting and Data Science sub-teams work cohesively, sharing knowledge and leveraging each other’s expertise to drive forward a unified data strategy.
What you need to be successful in this role:
- 8+ years of experience in a data analytics, business intelligence, or similar role, with at least 2 years in a management or team lead position
- Detail-oriented, meticulous, and attentive to accuracy. Ability to grasp complex analytical concepts quickly and thoroughly.
- Strong technical expertise in SQL, data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), and ETL processes. Hands-on experience in designing and maintaining dashboards, reports, and data pipelines.
- Experience with data science concepts (e.g., predictive modeling, machine learning, statistical analysis) and familiarity with data science tools (e.g., Python, R) is a strong plus.
- Proven track record of managing and delivering multiple data projects on time, including experience in project management, client onboarding, and stakeholder communication.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: Strong ability to translate complex data insights into actionable business recommendations and present findings to non-technical audiences.
- Strategic mindset with a focus on innovation: Ability to develop and execute a long-term vision for data-driven decision-making and analytics.
- High curiosity, both for the findings of our data analysis, as well as for industry trends and technological advancements.
- Adaptable and hands-on leadership style: Comfortable being both a leader and a contributor. Proficient at developing and coaching team members to continuously grow their skills and impact.
- The ability to readily shift between strategic planning and tactical execution.
