Blue Ridge Associates is seeking a Regional Sales Director in the Mid-Atlantic Territory (MD, DC, VA, Eastern PA and WV) to wholesale Blue Ridge Associates retirement plan administration and consulting services.
The Regional Sales Director will cultivate sales opportunities within their assigned territory selling through various Intermediary Sales Channels: Advisors, RIA’s, Record Keepers, DCIO, Payroll consultants and other centers of influence within the retirement plan market space. The Regional Sales Director will sell Blue Ridge’s 401(k), 403(b) and defined benefit consulting and administration solutions through all distribution channels and market segments.
The Regional Sales Director will establish themselves as a trusted resource pertaining to plan design consulting, retirement plan industry insights and practice management solutions. In addition to having an impact within their territory, our Regional Sales Directors will also provide value to their Blue Ridge team by sharing best practices and industry insights.
Regional Sales Director Responsibilities
The priority for this position will be to drive sales of Blue Ridge’s retirement plan administration and consulting services within their assigned geographic territory by utilizing all retirement plan distribution channels.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Cultivating relationships with both existing and new retirement advisors across all distribution channels to promote Blue Ridge’s retirement solutions within their retirement advisory practice: traditional 401(k)/403(b) administration services, defined benefit/cash balance administration, 3(16) Fiduciary and administration consulting services
- These solutions will be sold through all financial intermediaries within the assigned territory
- Achieving top tier TPA market share with our focus firms within the assigned territory
- Demonstrating the ability to effectively position Blue Ridge Associates thought capital and various industry insights within various meeting formats: one-on-one meetings, Zooms, seminars, etc.
- Collaborating with the Blue Ridge Internal Sales Team, Plan Design Consultants, Installation and Service Team throughout the sales process
- Managing their territory rotation, advisor/record keeper segmentation and travel budget
- Demonstrating sound judgment when making decisions and operating with discretion and integrity
Regional Sales Director Responsibilities Expertise and Skills
The Regional Sales Director’s success will be driven by several factors such as, executing an impactful client segmentation strategy, effective territory rotation, utilizing a consultative sales approach when positioning Blue Ridge’s retirement consulting and administration services within the marketplace.

- Being knowledgeable of industry-specific needs/trends, constraints, and opportunities within the retirement plan consulting space

- Exceeding established performance goals
Regional Sales Director Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 3+ years of sales experience with a proven track record (TPA or Retirement Record Keeping wholesaling experience a plus)
- The ideal candidate will live near the major metro center of the territory
- Willingness to travel: 50-75% travel required within assigned territory
- Strong working knowledge of retirement plan services, recordkeeping and DCIO industry
- Demonstrated experience in developing relationships with financial advisors, record keeper wholesalers and centers of influence
- Possesses strong presentation, facilitation and time management skills
- Retirement industry credentials preferred (QKA, CPFA, CPFC, CLU, ChFC) or the ability to obtain
