National Account Manager

Position Description:
The National Account Manager is responsible for managing the top clients in the Growth channel related to BBQ and Pet categories. The manager must be apt in building and maintaining strong client relationships while identifying the needs and requirements to promote our companies’ solutions to achieve mutual satisfaction. The Manager is also responsible for identifying new business developments to accelerate our growth initiatives with the Growth Sales Team. The goal is to strategically grow our business with our most important customers while developing opportunities to advance initiatives in the BBQ and Pet categories.
Major Areas of Responsibility Include:
- Support annual budgeting for area of responsibilities and meet monthly revenue and margin goals
- Accurate monthly forecasting with action plans to mitigate risk and maximize opportunities
- Provide weekly Account performance tracking and reporting
- Conduct routine site visits for information gathering and rapport building with store staff
- Analyzing data for strategic approach for regular client line reviews
- Develop trusting relationships between key clients for industry insights to drive decision making
- Gather and report on critical marketing data as needed
- Resolving key client issues and complaints with cross-functional departments
- Negotiating contracts with client and establishing a timeline of performance
- Assist with annual customer review and pricing submissions
- Coordinate customer onboarding, item setup, and management with retailers
- Manage E-commerce setup with new and existing retailers
- Identify, develop, and track customer opportunities using Salesforce
- Track and manage customer communications and information using Salesforce
- Apply sales tools (ie SalesForce, Tableau, Power BI) to develop and monitor strategic plans and activities within assigned accounts to execute and manage performance.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- 3-5 years of Sales and Account Management preferred
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience using a CRM system, preferably Salesforce
- Goal oriented and a proven performer
- Skilled negotiator
- Strong analytical skills that drive action plans
- Self-motivated and self-directed
- Distinguished communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High degree of organization, planning and multi-tasking skills.
- Demonstrated passion for continuous improvement and learning.
