Benefit Recovery Specialists, Inc. (BRSI) is currently seeking a full time, hourly, employee to fill a position in which duties will be comprised of technical writing, compliance discovery/adherence, and audit initiation/tracking/support. This position will be required to stay abreast of current industry standards from several different aspects of business. The individual filling this role will be expected to be self-motivated in order to provide for autonomous work expectations. The software quality assurance and compliance team work as a cohesive, collaborative, confidential unit, with the mission of supporting the scope and values of BRSI. This position will directly report to the Software Quality Assurance Coordinator/Compliance Officer.
Work Hours and Benefits
- 40 Hour work week expected (no overtime authorized), mainly conducted Monday – Friday
- Very occasional weekend work – planned and coordinated well in advance of duty performance (no last minute/on call/emergency requirements)

Objectives and Responsibilities
- Advanced writing, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills with extreme attention to detail while adhering to in-house style guides
- Superior analytical skills to research, interpret, communicate, and implement federal, state, and local regulatory mandates as they may pertain to BRSI policies, practices, procedures, processes, and contracts
- Assist in conducting audits to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, policies, and contract requirements
- Gain deep understanding of BRSI products, services, policies, practices, procedures, and processes in order to translate that complex information into simple, polished, engaging content
- Develop/Revise comprehensive user-friendly content that meets the needs of target audiences, turning insights into language for user success while maintaining organizational standards and formats
- Ability to understand and accurately translate technical information for both general and technical audiences
- Research, outline, write, and edit content including (but not limited to) company policies/plans, procedure manuals, technical specifications, process documentation, and audit evidentiary support, while working closely with various departments and subject matter experts in order to comply with regulatory and contract/project requirements
- Work with compliance and reporting team to identify documentation repositories, track document revise/edit/review schedules, and determine best solutions for data compilation and centralized storage
- Research, create, and maintain information architecture templates that adhere to organizational and legal/industry standards that allow for easy data migration during auditing processes
Required Skills
- Understanding of regulatory frameworks/reporting
- Strong research skills with superior content retention with the proven capability to quickly learn and understand complex subject matters
- Related experience as an effective technical writer and compliance analyst
- Experience in writing documentation and procedure manuals/policies/plans for various audiences
- Superb written and communication skills, with a keen eye for detail
- Experience with product development
- Ability to prioritize multiple simultaneous deadlines
Preferred Skills
- Experience with industry standards including (but not limited to) NIST 800-53, 800-171, CMMC, CMS, SOC, SSAE18, RMF, HIPAA, ADA (section 508), FedRAMP/StateRAMP, FISMA, and CUI
- Direct experience with healthcare related services and standards as pertaining to various levels of federal, state, local, commercial, and private contracting
- Firm understanding of SDLC (systems development lifecycle) and previous experience in software development
- Experience with Inflectra project management/reporting software and LeapWork testing software
Education and Experience Requirements
- Any combination of training and experience that will provide an opportunity to acquire the knowledge and abilities previously listed
- BA or BS in finance, business management, or a computer science related field
- 1-2 years relevant work experience in a compliance environment
- 1-2 years relevant work experience in technical/comprehensive writing
