About Our School Services
With over 30 years of school therapy experience, LLA Therapy’s motto is: Helping Kids Shine Their Brightest! In order to accomplish our goal we pride ourselves on effective and streamlined communication, ongoing mentoring and support, collaboration between school personnel (intervention specialists, general education teachers, other therapy disciplines, psychologists, administration) and providing our professionals with the materials and tools they need to succeed (access to online assessments, shared therapy resources, templates, goal banks, and membership to online therapy tools).
Essential Accountabilities for the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
- Provide ongoing treatment to assigned caseload
- Communicate and collaborate with supervising Occupational Therapist
- Document, monitor, and analyze the patient’s progress and effects of treatment.
- Communicate, educate, and provide family training on the patient’s individualized treatment plans.
- Document, monitor, analyze, and report students’ progress and effects of treatment regularly in conjunction with school deadlines and procedures.
- Attend and report evaluations findings and therapy recommendations in family friendly language during IEP and ETR meetings.
- Contribute to building a positive, supportive, and learning culture through collaboration and ongoing communication between school personnel and families.
- Maintenance and documentation of ongoing therapy minutes and report due-dates.
- Complete necessary Medicaid billing in conjunction with school deadlines and procedures.
- Associate’s degree in an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program from an accredited college or university.
- Current license to practice as an Occupational Therapist Assistant in the State of Ohio.
- Valid Driver’s license.
- FBI and BCI background check (can be completed upon hire)
- Professional Liability Insurance, recommended by governing body.
- Positive and goal-oriented, willing to accept the challenge of new assignments and be able to work well with others.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with emphasis on teamwork, customer service, and safe working practices.
- Must be able to handle stressful situations.
