Good Harvest Market, Waukesha County's largest independently owned natural and organic grocer, is currently seeking to hire a part or full-time Customer Service Desk Clerk. 

Flexible retail availability is required, including weekends and holidays. Evening availability is a must, as this role will frequently close the department (we close at 8pm Monday through Saturday and 7pm on Sundays). For full-time consideration more open availability will be required, as daytime shifts will also be incorporated.

As a Customer Service Desk Clerk, you will handle all of the basic cashiering duties of a Front End Cashier with the addition of handling customer returns, special orders, answering phones, processing new loyalty members, bagging for customers as needed, retrieving carts from our parking lot, and offering exceptional customer service from our main customer service desk.

Prior grocery cashiering and cash office experience will be preferred. To be considered you must be at least 18 years old, as this position must be able to scan alcohol purchases.

Responsibilities and Duties

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Providing exceptional customer service
• Handling cash with accuracy and care
• Efficiently performing customer transactions using our POS system
• Processing returns and placing special orders for customers.
• Answering our phones and properly directing calls.
• Delegating checklist tasks to ensure productivity is maintained and the department functions optimally
• Ensuring cashiers are scheduled appropriately for breaks and taking them at times that work best for the department
• Cleaning the department
• Retrieving carts from the parking lot
• Stocking and facing products as needed
• Picking orders for e-commerce customers
• Communicating effectively with e-commerce customers to ensure satisfaction
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to remain organized

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• At least two years of customer service experience
• At least one year of cash handling experience
• Must have flexible retail availability
• Must be able to communicate clearly and respectfully with our customers
• A strong interest in natural foods and living
• Must possess a strong work ethic and be self-motivated
• Preferably have at least one year of customer service experience

Physical Demands:

• Constant standing
• Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, pushing and pulling
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Varying temperature conditions (retrieving carts or aiding customers with their groceries out to their vehicle in various weather conditions, stocking coolers/freezers as needed)
