Purpose and Scope: 

We are looking for a Program Director to lead and expand our work within our Defense and National Security Team at agencies such as the Department of State (DOS), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and the Department of Defense (DOD).  Program focuses include modernization efforts across existing systems to reimagine them both technically and from a business perspective, as well as a data focus across multiple data platforms, utilizing machine learning, analytics, and AI.  


We take a Product and Customer Experience (CX) centered view of our work (software development or engineering), and work with our customers to tailor standardized methodologies such as Agile to their specific mission needs utilizing this view. 


Our customers are not only these agencies but Americans – we have a strong mission focus to support our civilian and military personnel as they execute their critical tasks on a daily basis both CONUS and OCONUS.   


Responsibilities: 

  • Report directly to the VP and GM of Defense and National Security for eSimplicity, leading a program, including a mission critical user facing application utilized by all Americans. 
  • Be the eSimplicity primary POC to the Program and associated stakeholders (government and other entities such as USDS, non-profits and other associations, vendors). 
  • Work with the VP of Defense and National Security and the CGO to plan and expand our work over a multi-year horizon.  Be accountable for driving the creation of a Program horizon and roadmap, and the execution of this roadmap. 
  • Working with our existing team and project manager/leads, manage day-to-day program delivery and be accountable for business, technical, and mission-focused outcomes.  This includes coordinating staffing, managing subcontractors, managing financials, and driving customer satisfaction as key responsibilities. 
  • Working with eSimplicity Practice Directors in our Product, CX, and Program Management space drive the continued adaptation of our best practices, including tailoring Agile Scrum methodology to customer needs.  Bring an MVP/iterative mindset to delivery, with heavy incremental stakeholder interaction. 
  • Work with your customer to deliver as a Product and help integrate a Product mindset into various workstreams. 
  • Engage with Technical and Security SMEs from across the company including the CTO, CISO and CIO as needed to bring the right skillsets to advance the Program’s mission. 
Requirements

Required Skills: 

  • Adaptive Leadership: Exceptional ability to lead in a fast-evolving, dynamic environment. Comfortable making decisions in complex situations and capable of pivoting strategy as needed.  
  • Risk and Contingency Management Expertise: Skilled in navigating high-stakes scenarios with calmness and strategic foresight. Experience in managing challenges proactively and leading teams through periods of change.  
  • Agile Management Proficiency: Extensive experience in agile project management, promoting continuous improvement and innovative product delivery.  
  • Financial and Operational Insight: Strong grasp of program financials, staffing, and subcontract management, with a track record of maintaining budget integrity and operational excellence. 
  • Customer Engagement: Heavy experience in engaging with customers at all levels, integrating conversations between multiple customers and stakeholders with differing missions and views. 

Qualifications: 

  • 15+ years in IT consulting, with at least 7 years of agile project/program management experience at a law enforcement, security, or defense focused agency. 
  • Demonstrated experience in managing substantial teams (30-80+ people) in a law enforcement, security, or defense focused agency. 
  • Demonstrated experience managing programs with TCV’s of $50M-$100M. 
  • Demonstrated experience standing up at least one new 30+ person program and/or account in a law enforcement, security, or defense focused agency. 
  • Demonstrated experience managing software development programs with heavy user-facing applications with multiple stakeholders, utilizing modern CX practices and modern Product Management practices. 
  • Demonstrated experience managing software development programs that utilize AWS or Azure. 
  • PMP required. 
  • Active Secret or above clearance preferred. 

This is a hybrid position located in the DC Metro Area.  The successful candidate will be able to be on-site in DC 2-3 times per week.  The remaining time remote work is anticipated.

 

eSimplicity supports a work environment operating within the Eastern time zone so we can work with and respond to our government clients. Expected hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern unless otherwise directed by your manager. 


Occasional travel for training and internal events. It is estimated to be less than 5% per year.

Salary Description
$187,700.00 - $227,500.00
