We currently have an opening for a Product Manager – PAT/Bioprocessing. 


The Product Manager will be responsible for product strategy and marketing expertise for the portfolio of the company’s products. The Product Manager will be responsible for the entire product lifecycle including defining the product vision and roadmap, defining next generation product introductions, managing the existing portfolio, and retiring older products. In this role, the Product Manager will need to work closely with engineering, sales, and technical support functions to ensure revenue, profit, sales growth, increased market share, and customer satisfaction goals are met.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• As the “voice of the customer”, assist engineering to develop product features, benefits, and long-range product line goals. 

• Develop go to market strategy which includes assisting with developing product specific sales literature; product line value propositions; and sales support programs and documents.

• Assist upper management in developing annual pricing strategy and discount structures in order to meet revenue, profitability, and strategic goals. 

• Develop marketing plan, marketing materials, and action items with upper management. 

• Attend trade shows.

• Develop content to support current and new applications for all industries to be presented through all forms of media.  

• Monitor competition which includes understanding the competition’s value propositions and go to market strategies; pricing systems; and areas of weakness. 

• Conduct product training for salespeople, distributor managers, and distributors. Teach them how to sell the products. 

• Assist with field sales by virtually attending customer facing sales calls with salespeople, distributor managers, and distributors. 

• Function as the “go to expert” for product selection and applications expertise. 

• Create and deliver technical and applications presentations at customer sites, trade shows, seminars, and in house. 

• Assist with providing quotes to customers, sales reps, distributors, and channel managers when necessary. 

• Responsible for the development, implementation, and sustainment of the company’s lead generation tool to help generate and qualify leads. 

• Develop and execute product advertising plan. 

Requirements

Qualifying Attributes and Skills:

• Technical knowledge in cell culture, microbial fermentation, and upstream bioprocessing applications

• Working knowledge of PAT guidelines.

• Bachelor’s degree in business or relevant scientific field is a required.  Advanced degree in Business/marketing would be preferred.  

• 10+ year’s relevant marketing experience with proven, demonstrated track record of successful product marketing.

• Travel expectations are as needed, anticipated around 50% overnight travel.

• Strong business acumen in dealing with customers from direct contacts to senior management/decision makers.

• Advanced analytical, strategic planning skills and critical thinking is required.

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills must be able to communicate long-term vision.

• Strong organization skills and ability to lead people to a vision.   

• Ability to understanding technical requirements from customers.

• Follow trends in the end market to understand the market environment and specify what to sell and promote
