Requirements

 The Business Development Representative (BDR) will report to the Director of Business Development and focus on sourcing new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and proactive outbound outreach, including cold calls and emails. The BDR will research prospective healthcare clients, identify decision-makers, coordinate outreach strategies, and work closely with the sales team to prioritize and review results. This role requires consistent documentation in Outreach.io and Microsoft Dynamics to ensure data integrity and smooth pipeline progression.

The BDR will develop expertise in SpendMend’s cost-saving solutions, especially in uncovering hidden savings in healthcare. They will collaborate with sales and account management to advance opportunities and provide marketing with feedback to refine industry-targeted content and strategies.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of or strong interest in the healthcare industry, particularly in cost management and purchased services
  • Positive attitude that aligns with our collaborative, goal-oriented culture
  • Proven inside sales experience with a track record of meeting or exceeding quotas
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to organize and prioritize outreach and engagement activities
  • Strong phone presence with experience making 75+ calls per day
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics (or a similar CRM), with a commitment to developing proficiency
  • Experience with Outreach.io (or a similar sales engagement platform)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong listening and presentation abilities
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
