Miriam’s Kitchen works to end chronic homelessness in Washington, DC. We advocate for permanent supportive housing as a long-term solution, while meeting short-term needs by providing healthy meals and high-quality social services to individuals who are chronically homeless.
ABOUT THE POSITION
Miriam’s Kitchen has shown steady growth over the years and is currently a $10 million organization and about half comes from private sources (individuals, corporations, and foundations). To support this growth, Miriam’s Kitchen is hiring a full-time Partnership Engagement Manager to join a growing team of experienced fundraising professionals to support Miriam’s Kitchen’s mission to end chronic homelessness in DC.
The Partnership Engagement Manager will work closely with the Director of Corporate Partnerships to maintain and deepen relationships with corporate partners. Specifically, the Partnership Engagement Manager will manage a portfolio aimed for growth using a variety of strategies including but not limited to targeted campaigns, in-person and virtual events, and hands-on engagement activities with partners.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- In coordination with the Director of Corporate Partnerships, plan, execute, and monitor strategies to maintain and grow corporate donor prospects giving in the $1,000-$10,000 level. Examples of strategies:
- Identify, cultivate, and steward partnership prospects
- Create, execute, and track donor touchpoints; convert prospects into first-time donors; and upgrade entry-level to mid-level donors.
- Develop, pitch, and execute sponsorship opportunities
- Build out fundraising pages for campaigns, events, etc.
- Support partners in their fundraising efforts for Miriam’s Kitchen
- Draft and submit grant proposals to corporations
- Manage a portfolio of active donors and create ladders of engagement with each prospect that strengthens their commitment to ending chronic homelessness in DC as demonstrated by the contribution of their time, talent, and treasure.
- Collaborate across departments to coordinate meaningful and memorable service opportunities that connect partners to mission, build relationships, and drive fundraising.
- Coordinate with other members of the Development and Communications teams on cross-platform fundraising campaigns, ensuring the creation and delivery of messaging is consistent across all platforms
- Partner with the Volunteer Manager for corporate volunteerism and employee engagement opportunities to ensure successful corporate volunteer shifts;
- Work across departments to support corporate in-kind contributions, as needed
- Write clear and compelling fundraising materials, such as pitch decks, corporate grant proposals, event briefs, reports, and stewardship pieces that communicate mission and impact.
- Plan and implement fundraising and cultivation events, including logistics, volunteer management, programming, facilitation, close out, and follow-up. Examples include: Run 4 MK, meals shifts, service projects, etc.
- Recruit champions to fundraise for Miriam’s Kitchen through campaigns and events such as Run 4 MK, service projects, and more.
- Support fundraising and logistic efforts for annual gala.
- Manage day-to-day partnership needs, activation, and fulfillment of service and sponsorship opportunities.
- Track and record partners activities in donor database, monitor data integrity, and execute prompt acknowledgement of corporate donations.
- Coordinate with other members of the Development and Communications teams on cross-platform fundraising campaigns, ensuring the creation and delivery of messaging is consistent across all platforms.
- Strengthen Miriam’s Kitchen profile and visibility in the community by attending and speaking at corporate and other external events on behalf of the organization
- Responsible for recruiting fundraising volunteers who participate in peer-to-peer fundraising products resulting in revenue growth and achievement of goals
- Complete administrative tasks as necessary
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE:
- Three to five years of fundraising, marketing, and/or communications experience
- Experience developing and executing fundraising campaigns, including through online appeals and events
- Track record of identifying and securing new revenue from a variety of funders
- Strong command of technology and database management
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and keen attention to detail
- Creative fundraising writer and content developer
- Ability to present, inform, and motivate individuals and groups about Miriam’s Kitchen’s mission and the importance of raising funds in support of the mission
- Understand the confidential nature of donor information and maintain confidence
- Proven ability to manage workflow, multiple tasks, and meet deadlines to completion
- Believes passionately in Miriam’s Kitchen’s mission, vision, and values
- Strong interest in and commitment to social justice and equity by ending chronic homelessness in DC
- A team player who is comfortable working with diverse populations, including staff, stakeholders, and guests with a variety of backgrounds and lived experiences.
- This position occasionally requires local travel between Miriam's Kitchen and partner sites. Where the need arises for business travel, appropriate compensation; Attendance of events on nights and weekends, as needed;
