RaganSmith is seeking a full-time CAD Technician specializing in land surveying based in our Nashville office. This position is responsible for providing surveying office support, serving as a key member of the team on a wide range of private sector projects. The CAD Technician will also collaborate internally with field staff as well as other CAD technicians, civil engineers, and land surveyors to assist our clients in the development of land surveys.
Responsibilities
- Use AutoCAD Civil 3D software to prepare boundary and topographic surveys along with subdivision plats
- Process, extract, and analyze field survey data
- Collaborate with project managers to create plans and survey base mapping.
- Performs quality assurance and standards checks on projects
- Potential for occasional field work including site inspections, research, and quality assurance
- Additional related duties as needed
Minimum Qualifications
- 2-5+ years of related AutoCAD drafting experience in a land surveying environment
- Knowledge and application of surveying concepts
- Ability to adhere to project timelines in a team environment
- Strength in multi-department coordination and organization
- Proficient written and verbal communication
- Completes assignments with limited direction
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent experience
- Drafting experience using GEOPAK, Open Roads, or MicroStation
- Experience using Trimble Business Center
- 2+ years of field surveying experience
- Experience with DOT surveying or engineering design projects
