What you'll be doing:
- Responsible for supervising Production Associates to ensure all operational goals are achieved for safety, quality, housekeeping, through-put, and communication. He/she is also responsible for Production Associate performance, training, and adherence to company policies and procedures. The primary areas of responsibility are the Calcining, Cutting, Assembly, Welding, HMA and FGI Inspection.
- Continuously work on eliminating risk reduction while maintaining all safety and PPE requirements, incident reporting, and monthly safety training in work group and areas.
- Ensure safety infrastructure equipment is inspected, calibrated, and working within ranges defined by regulatory requirements, industry best practices, or Cormetech policy and procedures (e.g., edge hardening containments, fire extinguishers, emergency lighting).
- Accountable for meeting productivity, cost, quality, and accurate daily / monthly MES data tracking.
- Collaborate with other supervisors to ensure smooth handovers between shifts.
- Maintain tour-ready housekeeping standards and physical condition of the facility by planning and implementing cleanliness standards, task, innovative design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacements.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9000 standards and maintain documentation and forms used in each process (SOP’s, Work Instructions, Checklists, etc.,)
- Investigate and determine root cause of nonconforming material / work and product disposition plan. Train, coach and collaborate with workforce as to corrective measures needed to drive workmanship improvements and waste minimization.
- Solely responsible for employee time tracking, PTO approvals, administering attendance point policy, overtime management, and performance management including disciplinary documentation.
- Collaborate with Human Resources to ensure skill training needs with work team personnel are documented, achieved, and any ongoing performance management or recognition needs are completed in consistent, timely manner.
- Create and maintain efficient and accurate inventory management processes, consistent with company policy and procedures, to provide data required for purchasing, inventory counts and material variance (e.g., steel inventory/racks, HMA racks, packing, cement, and edge hardening).
- Potential shift coverage for supervisors or associates within the production group during planned or unplanned absences or during periods of high work demand.
Additional Duties:
- Other duties as assigned.
- Special projects as requested.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Management, or related field or 5 or more years manufacturing supervisory experience preferred.
- A proven history of leadership and communication skills in 1:1 and group settings.
- Must be willing to take after hours phone calls and work any shift or weekends to meet departmental objectives.
- Be in good standing regarding safety, attendance, quality, and overall job performance.
- Ability to work on ladders, platforms, and other elevated workspaces as tasks demand.
- Forklift, Boom lift, Scissor’s lift, and company truck driving authorization required within three (6) months of acquiring position.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver presentations to communicate the status, problem resolution, recommendations of work/projects to appropriate internal and external customers.
- Ability to obtain computer skills required to work with ERP systems, SOMAX and Microsoft Office
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, positive professional attitude and must be able to communicate upward and outward in the organization.
What Knowledge and Skills We Prefer :
- Experience in ceramic manufacturing preferred

The Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift push, pull, and carry 25 pounds frequently.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry 50 pounds occasionally.
- Standing for extended periods of time
- Sitting at a desk working on a computer for extended periods of time frequently
- Walking, stooping, bending, crouching, twisting, climbing, and kneeling.
Your Work Schedule:
12-Hour, 2-2-3 rotation schedule, including, days, nights, and every other weekend
