Hess Services, Inc. is seeking a Welder to join our production team and fabricate high-quality industrial and oilfield equipment. Job Purpose: The Welder  performs duties related to steel production.

Essential Functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Sets and modifies welding machine settings per materials and parameters, makes welds according to specification on prints and inspects finished product.
  2. Troubleshoots and fixes welds as needed or required by QC Inspector.
  3. Performs weld on steel products to the applicable code (ASME & API Codes).
  4. Follows prints accurately and operates grinders and other hand tools.
  5. Operates overhead cranes and other lifting devices.
  6. Accurately maintains required paperwork.
  7. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations. Secures tools, materials and equipment at end of day.
  8. Follows protocol and procedures documented in the employee handbook.
  9. Regular attendance and timeliness.
  10. Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements

Qualifications and Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  2. Trade school preferred, plus a minimum of 2 years GMAW welding experience preferred, SMAW experience helpful; or 3+ years experience in relative field.
  3. Ability to pass GMAW 3G DH internal weld certification test under WPS (Welding Procedure Specification).
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate detailed information to customers, coworkers and management.
  5. Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals and job instructions with basic problem solving skills.
  6. Must be able to measure accurately. Able to read welding symbols preferred.
  7. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions.
  8. Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  9. Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  10. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  11. Experience using power tools and hand tools. 
  12. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
