The Product team at SoftBank Robotics America manages the company’s full portfolio of digital, physical, and internal data products. Reporting to the VP of Product at SoftBank Robotics, North America, the ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial and comfortable navigating a rapidly evolving market to manage the full product lifecycle of SoftBank Robotics’s robotic portfolio, from launch to end of life.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Product Launch: Manage the product launch strategy for new products, including market research, defining the value of each product within SoftBank Robotics’s portfolio, product testing requirements, and use case definition. This includes facilitating the launch process across cross-functional teams, ensuring that all launch requirements are met.
  • Product Lifecycle Management, Launched Products: Manage the full product lifecycle of all physical robotic products at SoftBank Robotics (4 SKUs and growing). This includes working with OEMs to influence their hardware product roadmaps and improve upon the current version of each product based on in market issues. This role will also be responsible for understanding key metrics on the in-market products, such as production rates, to inform other cross functional teams of the best use cases for the products.
  • Tools, Launched Products: Develop tools leveraging data from multiple sources to better enable visibility and action into issues that arise on the products in market, with the goal of improving the in-market product experience of in-market products. As more products are deployed into the market, leverage this data to better refine the use case of the product, and inform our sales efforts via product-led growth.
  • Launched Products, Software + Hardware Updates: Responsible for delivering vision and execution of new software and hardware releases on launched products and new product visions. This includes managing the differences between current product versions and previous product versions, understanding the production rates in different environments, and equipping the product marketing team with the necessary information to create customer-facing materials.
  • Other duties: As may be assigned and as business needs evolve.


Requirements
  • 3-4+ years of product management experience, ideally with physical and digital products
  • Technical background through STEM degree or hands-on experience.
  • Ability to decompose complex projects and facilitate execution and decision making across technical and non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated understanding of physical product principles, and how to improve physical products
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage data and analytics to build out tools to improve processes, and better productize solutions
  • Proactive opportunity identification and problem-solving skills to win more business and drive efficiency every day
  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
  • Strong communication, influence, and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million-dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
  • Passion and curiosity for robotics, AI, generative AI and technology’s potential to benefit people and solve business problems
  • Keeping up-to-speed on the fast pace of growth in emerging trends related to robotics, AI, and data science
