Summary:

This role will play a pivotal part in ensuring the quality of Augeo’s SaaS workplace engagement platform. An Augeo QA Automation Engineer is responsible for creating applications and scripts to measure quality, automatically test changes to the platform, and create and maintain automated regression, acceptance, and smoke test suites. You will be helping to write test cases and test fixtures, perform test runs, and partnering with QA Analysts to validate success criteria and automate. Additionally, you will act as the gatekeeper for changes and a decision maker on what will be getting into our customers hands on each release. You will be required to work within our change and test management tools and collaborate with Augeo's application and data development teams as well as “the business”. The ideal candidate can learn and understand business needs to ensure that our technology meets what is truly required and can maintain a customer orientation when using functionality.

High-level Job Requirements:

  • Manage quality across all application tiers: back-end, business and front-end
  • Support existing applications by reproducing reported defects
  • Identify test cases to prioritize for automation
  • Create automated tests to cover test cases and test plans
  • Participate in design and code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices
  • Continually work to improve and evolve QA processes and techniques
  • Apply principles, processes and tools of quality management to work
  • Actively participate in an Agile team that focuses on delivering incremental results and constant improvement

Competencies:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing skills
  • Fundamental analytical, conceptional thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to participate in meetings communicating findings and plans to cross-functional team members, management, and clients
  • Forward thinking on ways to improve product related challenges with an eye toward delivering value to the end user
  • Organized, with the ability to work independently toward project driven deadlines, in person or remote
  • Experience prioritizing initiatives based on internal and client business needs

Desired Technical Skills:

  • Orthogonal thinking to come up with methods to find defects – entering negative numbers and emojis when testing numeric user input, for example
  • Java, JMeter, and Selenium development skills
  • Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman
  • Experience with a version control system (Bitbucket, Git, etc.)
  • Diverse skills including novice data querying skills such as SQL
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and a variety of roles within projects
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML and CSS or JavaScript, JQuery and AJAX

Education and Experience:

  • Two-year or four-year college degree from a regionally accredited college or university preferred
  • Microsoft Office proficiency required
  • Experience with iterative test planning and execution
  • Experience with large scale performance testing and tools
  • Experience working in an Agile-based environment
  • Experience in a SOC 2 Type II certified environment
  • Experience working with JIRA and Confluence
  • Understanding of and discipline to follow rigorous IT data and systems policies
  • Ability to work on multiple assignments and achieve objectives and deadlines
