Reporting to the Senior Director, Supply Chain, the Director, Clinical Supply Chain, is accountable for all Clinical Supply Chain operations that support an uninterrupted supply to Viridian’s patients. The incumbent will partner with cross functional teams, both internal and external, to ensure operational milestones supporting clinical supply across all programs are met.


This role is fully remote for non-local candidates. Travel to headquarters for meetings may be required at the discretion of management. Our office-based employees are required to work in the office three (3) days a week. 


Responsibilities

  • Set the strategic direction and operational execution plans for all work performed by Viridian’s network of clinical depots and strategic clinical vendors to ensure an uninterrupted clinical supply to Viridian’s patients; manage clinical supply chain operations including labeling, inventory control and monitoring, shipping, and global import/export licensing.
  • Partner with key functional groups, including Program Management, Clinical Development, Clinical Operations, Technical Operations, Quality, and Regulatory, to identify Investigational Product (IP) demand and develop and maintain a comprehensive clinical supply chain forecast/plan for each trial phase for multiple programs.
  • Manage external spend budget for activities executed at Viridian’s Clinical Depots, Clinical Supply Chain Vendors, and IRT Vendors; ensure accuracy of accruals, invoices, purchase orders and budget forecasting by serving as the functional liaison with the Technical Operations FP&A Business Partner.
  • Identify, develop, and manage appropriate tools for maintaining clinical supply inventory and forecast records.
  • Support authoring of the Pharmacy Manual, Regulatory documents, and Supply Chain related SOPs.
  • Facilitate resolution of IP-related questions from clinical sites.
  • Request, review, and approve proposals from CMO, CRO, and IRT vendors.
  • Identify business risks and implement appropriate risk mitigations.
  • Recruit and develop talent for the Clinical Supply Chain Function to ensure the business needs of the organization are met.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in life sciences, supply chain or related discipline, Master’s Degree a plus.
  • 12+ years of experience in the Biotechnology/Pharmaceutical industry with a minimum of 7 years of experience in Global Supply Chain Management.
  • Experience developing and simultaneously managing multiple comprehensive drug supply plans.
  • Progressive experience in a leadership role in clinical supply chain management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of CRO/CMO management, including labeling, packaging, and global distribution.
  • Working knowledge of FDA/ICH/EMA guidelines and cGMPs; familiarity with regulatory submission requirements.
  • Cold chain and combination drug device experience desirable.
  • Exemplary interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams with internal and external team membership.
  • Understands and listens to team needs while fostering collaborative and productive team environments.
  • Exhibits a degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness in a matrix organization.
  • Strong commitment to ethical standards
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Word, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, as required.
