Box Office Staff
Description

Box Office Staff works in conjunction with other members of the box office at our two box office locations in Aspen. This position reports directly to the Box Office Manager. The ideal candidate should have previous customer service experience and the ability to maintain attention to detail in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Box Office Staff assists the Box Office Manager in attending to the daily details of operation at the box office and must remain respectful, positive, supportive, interested, and friendly at all times. This is a seasonal position with weekend and evening work hours required.


Responsibilities

  • Provide guests with a positive first impression of the Aspen Music Festival & School
  • Accurately operate the point of sale ticketing system
  • Receive and process daily walk-up and phone ticket orders for AMFS events
  • Accommodate all donor requests for ticketing
  • Problem-solve by effectively communicating with guests to locate and distribute tickets
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of the AMFS summer event calendar
  • Provide information regarding AMFS events, facilities, and box office policies
  • Accurately handle credit card and cash transactions
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the manager on duty
Requirements
  • Applicant should possess excellent communication and customer service skills in addition to being detail oriented, well organized, patient, and able to successfully multitask while working under pressure.
  • Applicant will be expected to learn, comprehend and implement complex policies.
  • Computer proficiency, accurate data entry, courteous telephone presentation, and other basic office skills are essential.
  • Applicant should be comfortable working independently as well as in a team.
  • A basic knowledge of classical music, the AMFS, and the Aspen community is helpful, but not required.
  • Applicant must be a team player with a good sense of humor.

Compensation

$12.50/hour plus housing provided by AMFS (valued at a minimum of $4.91/hour depending on location.)  Overtime $22.22/hour.

The overall non-local compensation for this position, including hourly pay ($12.50/hour) and housing ($4.91/hour), exceeds the 2024 Colorado minimum wage of $14.81.

Benefits include AMFS season pass and paid sick time.

OR

$22.00/hour if you provide your own housing. Overtime $33.00/hour. 

Benefits include AMFS season pass and paid sick time.

Hiring Timeline
