Job Description:
As a Fleet Support Specialist/Technician you will work in shipboard environments onboard US Naval vessels or in lab environments at combat system test facilities, supporting technical functions such as design, development, evaluation, testing, operation, installation, and maintenance related to the Ship Self Defense System (SSDS). The Fleet Support Specialist/Technician shall perform system analysis; problem identification and isolation; development of test plans and procedures including test methodology; execution of Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) with the combat system and Battle-Group-tests at land-based facilities or aboard a ship underway; verification of equipment and system interface problem solution. In support of the SSDS ISEA Fleet support role and effort the Fleet Support Specialist/Technician shall make regular and reoccurring visits to test sites, contractor facilities, manufacturing facilities, and aboard ship at port or underway involving regular work on major combat system upgrades, design, maintenance, and operations of the Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) to accomplish assignments involving: training of the ship’s crew on operating and maintaining SSDS; complex SSDS equipment technical analysis projects of extended durations; and urgent responses to the Fleet when ships under critical conditions request immediate technical assistance on SSDS equipment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
- Must be able to obtain U.S. Security Clearance level Secret
- Must have a minimum of 4 years working on Ship Self Defense Systems in a technical support role
- Must have a High School diploma or equivalent
- Able to travel up to 50% of the time
Security Clearance:
Applicants must have an active security clearance and/or the ability to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance. Selected candidates will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain a DoD government-granted security clearance. Individuals will be subject to a background investigation to include but not be limited to, criminal history, employment and education verification, drug testing, and credit worthiness.
