The Salesfloor Managers at M&D Supply oversee the customer experience. Along with our sales people they are the “face” of M&D supply. They are crucial to the success of the company. Our sales team consistently makes customers happy by providing helpful, knowledgeable customer service that clearly differentiates us from our competition.
Supervisory Duties
- Hiring - recruit, identify, screen and select qualified applicants for open positions.
- Training and development – facilitate the learning of job related knowledge, skills and behavior
- Budgeting – develop an annual financial plan for resource allocation and monitor variances throughout the year
- Planning and Scheduling - develop goals and strategies to coordinate operational activities
- Leading – work with and through people to accomplish execute M&D’s value proposition
- Conflict management - recognize / respond incompatible differences between employees and customers and promote solutions
- Discipline – work with HR to administer corrective action when employees fail to meet attendance, performance or conduct requirements
- Appraisal - evaluate aspects of employee performance in accordance with performance standards
- Act as support for management team as needed.
- Help Coordinate and attend staff meetings
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be 18 years old or older
- One to three years in related fields and/or previous management experience
- Able to obtain LP Gas and forklift certification
Work Requirements
- Physical activity includes: Stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion.
- Physical requirements: Must be able to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds from floor to waist high independently. Must be able lift at least 80 lbs with assistance and 40 lbs without assistance, repeatedly from the ground to waist level.
- Visual acuity requirements: Sales floor managers are required to have the visual acuity to perform activities such as: item identification, preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts at distances close to the eyes. Sales team members are required to have acuity to accurately measure and cut building materials and to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures. They must be able to operate machines such as Key machine, Forklift, POS/Eagle Browser, computers, security systems, and power saws, LPG filling equipment, and power tools where the seeing job is at or within arm’s reach. They must be able to operate cash register, POS Program, Eagle Browser, open office.
Working conditions
Sales floor manages are subject to environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside. They are subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level. The worker can be subject to extreme heat temperatures above 100 for periods of more than one hour.
