Salary Information: Annual Minimum Salary-$48,000-Annual Maximum Salary-$72,000

Hiring Range: $23.08-$26.44

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Pro-rated based on hours/week.


Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences (PNWU) was founded as a 501(c) (3) non-profit medical institution in 2005 aimed at increasing access to health care in medically underserved areas of the Pacific Northwest.


The University currently offers the degrees of Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, Doctor of Physical Therapy, Master of Arts in Medical Science, and Master of Science in Occupational Therapy enrolling over 550 students annually with plans to develop other programs and/or colleges. Interprofessional education partnerships with other universities adds another 100 students to the population. General Summary:

The Dental Simulation Laboratory Manager is responsible for supporting dental students and faculty with supplies, instruments, and equipment for all pre-clinical activities performed in the dental simulation lab. Responsible and accountable for the electronic asset management system in the control of supplies, equipment, and dental instruments. Will assist in maintaining pre-clinical and lab equipment and supplies and managing open repair requests. Responsible for the upkeep and organization of the dispensary area and storage rooms to ensure proper ordering of needed supplies. Will need to respond to questions/inquires of student, faculty, and staff by providing guidance/assistance as needed. 


Essential Job Functions:

•  Issue dental instruments and supplies for all pre-clinical activities. Ensure proper scanning of dispensed and returned instruments and equipment from students and faculty. Ensure timely return of items checked out and notify student of items not returned.

•  Maintain equipment and supplies for pre-clinical simulation and lab areas. Check equipment to ensure it is working properly and conduct scheduled instrument assessment for replacement/vendor maintenance. Order, unpack, input, store, and distribute supplies as needed. Troubleshoot equipment issues and monitor open repair requests. 

•  Responsible for inventory control of supplies, equipment, and dental instruments using an electronic asset management software (computer and laser wand/scanner) to sustain correct levels in the dispensary area. Complete scheduled audits and provide monthly reports on various inventory information and report to the SDM Office of Clinical Operations. 

•  Organize and maintain all rooms associated with the dispensary, supply rooms, and pre-clinical educational areas. Ensure proper cleanliness of pre-clinical areas in conjunction with PNWU Facilities Dept. 

•  Ensure all broken instruments/equipment are recorded within the computer system and provide monthly reports to the SDM Office of Clinical Operations.  

•  Prepare, distribute, and collect supplemental instruments/equipment used for Boards. Assist all participants on Boards with supplies and instruments/equipment needs. 

•  Participates and engages in department, school, and university learning and development.

•  Performs other related duties as assigned and based on departmental need. 

Requirements

Education:

• Required: High School Diploma or GED

• Preferred: Graduation from a Dental Assisting Program or on-the-job training


Experience:

• Required: 1-3 years in dental/medical assisting and/or dental/healthcare clinic sterilization & maintenance

Skill in effective communication (both written and oral); skill in independent decision making; skill in performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature; skill in problem solving; knowledge of dental clinic inventory processes; knowledge of computer and different computer programs; knowledge of customer service principles and practices; knowledge of a variety of dental equipment, instruments, and supplies; ability to ensure the confidentiality, availability, and integrity of sensitive [student, employee, financial, business, etc.] information by exercising sound judgment and adhering to cybersecurity and privacy policies during employment and beyond; and ability to apply effective and accurate data entry and typing skills.
