Description

Floyd|Snider is looking to add an Environmental or Civil Engineer to our collaborative team. We’re looking for someone who exemplifies our commitment to technical excellence, environmental responsibility, and customer service.


Your primary responsibility will be to support completion of sediment remediation, habitat restoration, and upland remediation projects throughout the PNW. You’ll be working closely with project teams that will often include technical experts in other disciplines at our firm, as well as teaming partners and contractors outside our firm. 


Here’s our list of must-haves:   

  • 4+ years of experience working as an environmental or civil engineer in environmental consulting, environmental construction, or a similar field
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in civil, environmental, related engineering field 
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification, with ability to obtain Professional Engineering license (PE) in WA State within two years
  • Ability to acquire and maintain any certifications or licenses required for completion of job tasks, such as HAZWOPER, CPR, and/or TWIC
  • Valid driver’s license

Pay and Benefits


This is a full-time, permanent position. Candidates with 4 – 5 years of experience earn $88K - $95K annually and have the title of Staff Environmental Engineer, and candidates with 6 – 9 years of experience earn $95K - $110K annually and have the title of Project Environmental Engineer. Floyd|Snider provides employees with a flexible work schedule that includes core hours 9 AM to 4 PM Monday to Friday. Most staff are expected to work onsite 2 – 3 days per week, depending on their distance from our office. Project work may require you to work more than your standard billable work week, but Floyd|Snider provides extra time off to recognize this effort. Regional travel is a small part of this role. You won’t typically go more than 3 hours away, and we’ll cover your expenses.   


The Details


The right candidate will have a some or all of the following experience:   

  • Preparing remedial investigation and feasibility study reports
  • Remedial design for sediment and/or upland projects
  • Field work including sampling soil, soil vapor, sediment, and/or groundwater
  • Creating plans/drawings or performing volume calculations using CADD and Civil3D
  • Working within WA State environmental regulatory frameworks
  • Preparing or reviewing plans and specifications and bid packages for environmental remediation projects
  • Providing construction oversight on environmental remediation projects
  • Working with clients and/or regulatory agencies

You’ll work closely with other staff to complete project tasks in both the office and field. In-office tasks include performing site evaluation, alternatives analysis, and prereview of design drawings; field tasks include performing site investigation and construction oversight. Across all types of projects, you’ll be expected to coordinate with staff and teaming partners or contractors to pull together their contributions and will communicate with your team, the project manager, clients, and agency representatives to ensure client and project goals are met. You’ll complete quality control reviews of work products prepared by the team. You’ll also receive mentorship from others on the project team and will have access to professional development opportunities to expand your skills.
