Description

Floyd|Snider is looking to add a Project Environmental or Civil Engineer to our collaborative team. We’re looking for someone who exemplifies our commitment to technical excellence, environmental responsibility, and customer service.


Your primary responsibility will be to support completion of shoreline and aquatic sediment remediation, habitat restoration, and upland remediation projects throughout the Pacific Northwest. You’ll be working closely with project teams that will often include technical experts in other disciplines at the company, as well as teaming partners and contractors outside the company.


Here’s our list of must-haves:

  • 5+ years of experience working as an environmental or civil engineer in environmental consulting, environmental construction, or a similar field
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in civil, environmental, geotechnical or chemical engineering
  • Professional Engineering license in Washington State, or ability to obtain within one year
  • Ability to acquire and maintain any certifications or licenses required for completion of job tasks, such as HAZWOPER, CPR, and/or TWIC
  • Valid driver’s license

Pay and Benefits


This is a full-time, permanent position. Candidates with 5 – 9 years of experience earn $90K - $108K annually. We also offer 11 paid holidays and 20 days of paid time off per year.


Floyd|Snider provides employees with a flexible work schedule that includes core hours 9 AM to 4 PM Monday to Friday. Most staff are expected to work onsite 2 – 3 days per week, depending on their distance from our office.


Project work may require you to work more than your standard billable work week, but Floyd|Snider provides extra time off to recognize this effort. Regional travel is a small part of this role. You won’t typically go more than 3 hours away, and we’ll cover your expenses.


The Details


The right candidate will have a mix of the following skills or experience:

  • 3 - 4 years of experience in remedial design and execution, ideally on shoreline and sediment projects, but upland remediation experience is also relevant
  • 2+ years of professional experience creating plans/drawings or performing volume calculations using CADD and Civil3D
  • Professional field work experience, specifically: performing remedial fieldwork at sites with contaminated soil, sediment, and groundwater; and with sampling soil, soil vapor, sediment, and groundwater
  • Experience working within Washington State environmental regulatory frameworks
  • Experience preparing or reviewing plans and specifications for environmental remediation projects
  • Experience providing construction oversight on environmental remediation projects
  • Experience working with regulatory agencies or clients

The list of tasks you’ll be involved in include performing site evaluation, preparing remedial investigation and feasibility studies, preparing design drawings, plans, and specifications, and providing construction support and oversight, including review and approval of change orders.


You’ll work closely with other staff to achieve project tasks and deadlines. You’ll coordinate with internal staff and teaming partners or contractors to pull together their contributions and will communicate with your project manager, clients, and agency representatives to ensure success throughout each project. You’ll complete quality control reviews of work products prepared by the team. You’ll receive mentorship from your peers and more senior engineers on the project team, and will have access to professional development opportunities to expand your skills.
