As a Pulmonary Nurse Practitioner, you will work closely with physicians and other referring healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients with pulmonary conditions. You will play a crucial role in providing accurate and timely diagnosis, creating treatment plans, and educating patients on self-care and disease management. Your expertise will be essential in managing and monitoring patients with chronic respiratory diseases, such as asthma, COPD, and pulmonary fibrosis.

EDUCATION & REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications:
- Completion of a graduate level (or higher) nurse practitioner program accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)
- No experience required but preferred
- Preferred 1 year in pulmonary, not required but preferred.
- Preferred minimum 1 year as a Nurse Practitioner, not required but preferred.
Current RN’s who have not yet completed their nurse practitioner program or recent graduates who have not yet obtained their ANCC/AANP certification, or APRN nurse practitioner license are eligible to apply for this position. However, official employment is contingent upon the successful completion of an accredited nurse practitioner program, ANCC/AANP certification and APRN nurse practitioner licensure.
JOB DUTIES:
- Adheres to state guidelines and all requirements for continued licensure, periodic evaluations, and actively seeks input for identifying actions to improve performance and practice outcomes.
- Performs individualized history and physical examinations for diverse populations inclusive of social determinants of health
- Orders and interprets diagnostic testing in accordance with relevant health concerns of the patient
- Diagnoses acute, episodic, and chronic diseases
- Develops a comprehensive plan of care that encompasses evidence-based practice guidelines, practice protocols, Medicare, Medicaid, and other state and federal regulations.
- Provides appropriate education for current health diagnoses as well as anticipatory guidance for health promotion and disease prevention applicable to the individual’s health and socioeconomic status
- Monitors plan of care for cost-effectiveness and the achievement of expected improvements, while openly seeking feedback from those receiving care, referents, colleagues and caregiver/patient support systems while collaborating with physician and peers patients to enhance quality outcomes
- Documents in a timely manner to ensure all services are accurately accounted for and available for review by the interdisciplinary team
- Works independently to full scope of practice in compliance with the Arizona Nurse Practice Act with acknowledgement of off-site collaborating physician availability for consultation and collaboration

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS OR CERTIFICATIONS Required:

- Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) by the Arizona Board of Nursing
- Licensed Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in a nurse practitioner clinical area of specialization by the Arizona Board of Nursing
