OVERVIEW


The Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications develops and executes customer-centric marketing strategies to increase student access, engagement, and outcomes, drive program retention and growth, and meet financial goals. This position oversees brand positioning, market intelligence, product marketing, marketing operations, and digital presence.


The SVP of Marketing and Communications is also responsible for communications and public relations strategies, including internal and executive communications, public relations, thought leadership, social media, and reputation management. Additionally, this role oversees the design and execution of the PLTW events strategy, ensuring the delivery of outstanding events for stakeholders based on customer insights and industry best practices, in alignment with organizational strategy. Regular travel required.


Requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define and deeply understand target markets and customers. Responsible for market and customer insights, analytics, and strategic recommendations to inform the development and delivery of PLTW programs. 
  • Consult and advise on overall customer experience.
  • Increase PLTW’s national brand awareness, engagement, and positioning to drive student and program growth and retention in alignment with PLTW vision and financial goals. 
  • Create and execute integrated, comprehensive marketing strategies that communicate a consistent, yet audience-tailored, brand story across channels and products.
  • Partner closely with the sales team leadership to define growth targets and develop growth strategies; align on associated campaigns and sales enablement strategies that drive customer adoption, satisfaction, and advocacy. 
  • Lead the creation of inspiring designs, content, and results-focused campaigns that will build the PLTW brand and drive adoption and retention of PLTW programs.    
  • Lead a customer-centric team, driving engagement and performance in alignment with organizational priorities and core values. Design PLTW’s events strategy, priorities, and ROI goals in partnership with the Chief Customer Officer ensuring alignment with organizational strategy and goals.
  • Provide leadership to the Event Experience team in the creation and execution of consistently outstanding and results-focused PLTW events for external and internal stakeholders.
  • Seek opportunities to advance and enhance PLTW events to deliver value to target audiences based on customer insight and industry best practices.
  • Lead the development and execution of comprehensive internal and external communications strategies, including executive communications, public relations, social media, and reputation management.
  • Develop and implement strategic communication plans in partnership with organizational leaders, enhancing brand position and mission impact through media relations, thought leadership, and innovative methods.
  • Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive communication strategy for PLTW that enhances brand visibility and fosters strong relationships with key media outlets and external partners.
  • Lead the creation and distribution of digital newsletters, publications, and other communications, ensuring consistent messaging and engagement with stakeholders while aligning with PLTW's strategic goals.
  • Identify and recommend potential opportunities to incorporate innovative methods and emerging trends within area of expertise.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field of study.  
  • Knowledge of and experience with both HubSpot and Salesforce. 
  • Experience implementing and/or directing impactful marketing, customer insights, and customer experience initiatives. 
  • Significant and progressive Leadership experience in Marketing within a complex organization. 
  • Experience coaching, leading, and managing the work of others.
