Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Engineering Intern to join our team. As a Data Engineering Intern, you will work closely with our data team to support the integration, transformation, and management of healthcare data within our platform. This role offers hands-on experience in data engineering while contributing to meaningful healthcare technology solutions that improve patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and maintenance of data pipelines for healthcare information
  • Assist in designing and implementing data integration solutions
  • Help optimize data storage and retrieval processes
  • Participate in data quality assurance and validation
  • Contribute to documentation of data flows and processes
  • Work with various healthcare data formats and standards
  • Assist in developing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes
  • Support data security and privacy compliance efforts
  • Document and propose process improvements for data management workflows


Requirements

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • Strong foundation in database systems and SQL
  • Basic programming experience in Python, Java, or similar languages
  • Understanding of data structures and algorithms
  • Familiarity with ETL processes and data warehousing concepts
  • Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with healthcare data formats (HL7, FHIR, etc.)
  • Knowledge of big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, etc.)
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Understanding of data privacy regulations (HIPAA)
  • Experience with data visualization tools
  • Previous coursework or projects in data engineering
  • Version control system experience (Git)
