The Marketing Coordinator will assist in developing, executing, and maintaining strategic creative assets for marketing initiatives to promote the organization’s research, educational offerings, and advocacy efforts. The role also involves tracking data from digital campaigns, registration trends, and other metrics to ensure successful positioning of marketing efforts. The Marketing Coordinator will have work reviewed by and will report to the Senior Manager for Marketing and Digital Experiences. They will also work closely with other members of the team and various departments to ensure cohesive and effective marketing efforts.
Job duties will include but are not limited to:
- Event Marketing:
- Assist in planning, promoting, and executing compelling marketing strategies for the association’s nearly 200 online and in-person events per year.
- Research Promotion:
- Assist in crafting engaging content for webpages, newsletters, and social media platforms to spotlight key research findings and foster deeper member engagement.
- Content Creation:
- Produce, refine, and meticulously proofread impactful marketing materials, including emails, social media posts, and website content, to captivate and inform target audiences.
- Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, delivering actionable insights and strategic recommendations to refine future initiatives.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with internal teams, including research, events, and membership, to ensure marketing efforts align seamlessly with organizational objectives.
- Ad Sales Outreach:
- Strategically identify and engage potential advertisers aligned with the magazine’s target audience, building a robust pipeline of prospects through tailored outreach efforts.
- Media Kit Management:
- Curate, update, and distribute a polished and comprehensive media kit that showcases current advertising opportunities, competitive rates, and audience demographics.
- Ad Sales Strategy:
- Collaborate with other members of the marketing team to develop and execute creative strategies aimed at surpassing ad sales goals.
The Marketing Coordinator will enjoy a remote working environment, with the expectation that they will be available to travel roughly 5% to support special events and programs, including some travel to the Chicago office. - 2-3 years of experience in marketing or related field
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Some experience with an association, political campaign, advocacy organization, or event-focused environment preferred
The Marketing Coordinator will possess the following attributes and competencies:
- Proficiency in social media platforms, email marketing tools, and content management systems
- Basic graphic design skills
- Excellent project management skills - ensuring the timely start, duration and completion of projects
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with the ability to craft compelling and engaging content
- Familiarity with analytics tools and marketing automation platforms
Work Environment:
Remote, travel 5-10% for Membership Events
Physical Requirements:
Work is performed in an office environment. Must be able to travel short distances within office. Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
