As a DMV Clerk, you will contribute to the success of our dealerships by effectively processing paperwork to ensure a seamless experience for our guests. You will directly impact whether we become our guest’s favorite place to purchase, lease, or service their vehicle.
Responsibilities:
- Process title paperwork for all new and pre-owned vehicle retail transactions
- Process title paperwork for all Wholesale and Dealer Trade transactions
- Prepare tax and title documents for all Out of State transactions
- Ensure correct documentation is obtained to support all titling transaction
- Submit all authorized title transfers to Department of Motor Vehicles
- Compile and maintain a complete list of all outstanding title work
- Work closely with various out of state titling services, Out of State DMV, Auctions and any other regulatory agency
- Keep apprised of all current federal and state laws in regard to the vehicle title processing
- Attend training and seminars when available on title regulations and changes
- Maintain a professional appearance and a neat and organized work area
- Perform basic and routine accounting functions
- Assist in processing car deal contracts and related vehicle sales documentation, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Qualifications:
- Experience: 1+ years of automotive title experience required. Previous County and/or DMV experience a plus.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certifications: Valid driver’s license.
- Skills:
- Ability to perform in a high volume capacity with accuracy
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong problem solving skills
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to work with strict deadlines
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Physical Requirements:
- Standing and walking: Title clerks often need to move around the dealership, interacting with customers, sales representatives, and other staff.
- Lifting and carrying: This could involve moving files, paperwork, or occasionally assisting with vehicle-related tasks (e.g., moving keys or documents).
- Sitting for extended periods: Much of the role involves working at a desk, reviewing documents, and using computers.
