Job Summary
As an Associate Attorney, you will be working with and learning from a senior attorney on legal issues and providing legal counsel to the company. This position is responsible for performing legal research, drafting documents, and responding to company requests.
Major Responsibilities and Essential Functions

- Prepare discovery and respond to requests (admissions, disclosures, interrogatories, depositions, orders, etc.).
- Provide legal and administrative support to a senior attorney(s).
- Attend hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and court proceedings.
- Help prepare pleadings, motions, and briefs.
- Effectively communicate with company executives and the managing attorney(s) to understand the company's concerns and provide sound legal advice.
- Assist in the review of legal documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Analyze, evaluate, synthesize, and research case law, statutes, regulations, and documents impacting the company.
- Coordinate and manage outside counsel and ligation.
- Oversee compliance and corporate governance issues.
- Communicate clearly and logically (both orally and in writing) with regulatory agencies, courts, and counsel.
- Organize and manage documents from multiple sources in the course of multidistrict and other complex litigation.
- Keep informed on industry-specific regulations and ensure the appropriate risk management strategies.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Accredited Law Degree
- Licensed to practice law in the region
- 3-5 years of experience in legal practice
- Familiarity with legislation, case, and employment law related to the company
- Previous experience working with a law firm and preparing for the legation process
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail and accuracy
- High level of conscientiousness and problem-solving
- Ability to work alone and collaborate with groups
- High Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Adobe Products
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Ability to work under pressure
- Workable knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Working Conditions
This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment including but not limited to computers, office copiers, printers, and phone systems.
