Normandy Farm is seeking qualified individuals who are interested in working in an upscale hospitality environment. An exemplary work ethic, meticulous attention to detail and a passion for providing superior customer service are necessary for all applicants. Front Desk Agents make the first impression on our guests by extending a warm welcome and a friendly smile and additionally provide information about the hotel and local area. Front Desk Agents are responsible for guest check-ins and check-outs. They work closely with all hotel departments, particularly our Sales team, Restaurant and Wedding planners. You must be available to work any day of the week including holidays.


Must be able to work a minimum of 3 shifts per week. Shifts for this position are 7:00AM - 3:30PM and 3:00PM - 11:30PM. Weekends are required.  


This role will undergo a pre-employment background and drug screen.


Front Desk Agent Functions:

  • Assists guests with front office related inquiries in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Registers guests and complies with special requests whenever possible.
  • Keeps the front desk organized and clean.
  • Ensure the proper use of radio etiquette within the department.
  • Ensure correct and accurate cash handling.
  • Post charges to the guest accounts that have not been posted or were incurred on the night audit shift.
  • Maintain and monitor ‘Lost and Found’ procedures and policies according to Hansen Hospitality standards.
  • Accurately and efficiently inputs information into computer systems.
  • Completes the checklists accurately which includes the summary arrival report, exceeded credit limit report, folio balance, etc.
  • Utilizing downtime during slower periods of the shift by ensuring there are enough sundry items, copies of checklists, information, sheets, etc. at the front desk.
  • Monitoring the lobby and making sure it is up to Hansen Hospitality standards.
  • Fulfills guests’ requests (i.e. places phone calls, holds letters or packages, etc.)
  • Coordinates room status updates by notifying housekeeping of all check-outs, late check-outs, early check-ins, special requests and part-day rooms.
  • Operates telephones; answers the telephone; transfers calls to proper extensions; take messages for staff.
  • Attends and participates in all training sessions and team meetings.
  • Develops and maintains positive working relationships with others while listening and responding in an appropriate manner.
  • Follow instructions, adhere to all procedures, and company policies while maintaining a high standard of conduct.
  • Notifies and reports any problems or concerns to management.
  • Reports to Front Desk Manager


Requirements
  •  Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Hospitality Management Student or graduate (a plus)
  • Possess a basic knowledge of excellent service standards as well as etiquette.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, dealing with many arrivals and departures within a short period of time
  • Available to work weekends, evening shifts and major holidays (Christmas, Easter, Mother’s Day, Thanksgiving, along with other special events)
  • Thoroughly understands and follows proper credit, cash-checking and cash handling policies and procedures
  • Understands and monitors room status information
  • Knows room locations, types of rooms available and room rates
  • Mandatory compliance with all safety regulations, procedures, policies, and rules
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Always arrives punctually in full uniform with a neat & professional appearance
  • Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, carrying, bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
  • Able to lift up to 25 pounds without assistance and in excess of 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Must be able to multitask several different actions at once.
  • Experience with a full-service hotel/guest relations preferred.
  • Experience cashiering is preferred.
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work. 
  • Fluency in a foreign language is a plus.
