FINANCE ANALYST

JOB DESCRIPTION

  

Location:  Remote

Reports to:  Controller

Travel Requirements:  none required

POSITION SUMMARY  

The Finance Analyst is a critical role that provides support related to financial administration, accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciliations, budgeting, monitoring costs, contracts and other business needs. This position supports internal and external stakeholders in finance-related matters, and supports other tasks that may be needed to support College Advising Corps’ finance department. 


Requirements

  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

· Perform general accounting duties required for College Advising Corps’ operations 

· Create pledges and invoices funders based on signed agreements

· Reconcile University Partner Invoices with the budgets per contract 

· Manage Accounts Receivable functions for the organization 

· Assist with budget development to help meet all financial goals

· Monitor grant revenue and spending, ensure expenses are properly tied to funders, departments and projects 

· Create financial statements and reports for funders on a monthly/quarterly/as requested basis

· Manage annual fundraising license renewal and reporting 

· Manage and update payroll and 401k information to ensure all employees get accurate W-2’s. Ensure proper integration with HR system

· Monitor, record, and reconcile fixed assets

· Record income entries for revenue recognition in accordance with current authority guidance including ASU No. 2014-09 (Topic606) and ASU No. 2018-08 (Topic 958) 

· Provide supporting documents to prepare financial statements for annual audit

· Follow internal accounting procedures and policies to ensure financial security is maintained  

· Act as a resource for all financial technical questions; assist in the drafting and training of staff on

In order to perform successfully as a Finance Analyst, you must be a results-driven individual with at least 3 years of progressive general accounting experience. 

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in accounting and will also have:

· Minimum of 3 years of experience using general accounting software

· Proficiency with NetSuite or similar ERP accounting system 

· Microsoft Office Skills including advanced Excel

· Experience with grant reporting and Federal Uniform Guidance

· Experience adhering to internal control systems and processes

· Superior organizational skills and ability to multi-task and balance competing timelines

· Non-profit financial experience 

· Willingness to dig into complex projects and produce clear, accurate analysis and solutions    

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

· CPA license is preferred


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS  

· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
